Weird that Sony didnt have the FFVII part 3 or Kingdom Hearts 4 at their State Of Play. Did they really have a falling out with SE?

Even if nothing else is announced, it’s a pretty strong lineup from Nintendo this year

January 15-Animal Crossing: New Horizons (updated port)

February 12-Mario Tennis Fever (exclusive)

February 19-Xenoblade X (updated port)

March 5-Pokemon Pokopia (exclusive)

March 26-Super Mario Bros Wonder+Meetup in Bellabel Park (updated port)

April 16-Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream (via backwards compatibility)

May 21-Yoshi and the Mysterious Book (exclusive)

June 9-Xenoblade Chronicles (updated port)

June 25-Star Fox (exclusive)

July 2-Rhythm Heaven Groove (via backwards compatibility)

July 23-Splatoon Raiders (exclusive)

July 30-Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (updated port)

September 17-Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave (exclusive)

October 22-Nintendo Switch Sports Resort (exclusive)

2026-The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (exclusive)

December 3-Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (updated port)

I’m guessing Zelda will be the big November game which would make August the only month with nothing (other than Pokopia DLC) so I could see another Switch 2 Edition releasing that month, perhaps Pikmin 4.

Other than that, I could see one other smaller support title around the holidays but I think this years lineup is about set.

Well I'm gonna buy it. I lok tactics RPGs and I've been searching for an excuse to jump into Fire Emblem. (I am living evidence to IcaroRibeiro's response to your post lol.) Honestly that price tag just gets me all the more excited for this game has to offer!

Fire Emblem is my favorite Nintendo franchise. If you have the Switch online, try to play them in the release order

You can start with FE7, which was the first released in west and it's called simply "Fire Emblem". It's quite easy and mechanically simply (GBA games are really simplified compared to the SNES games)

You can them proceed to Path of Radiance, which is a fan favorite

If you lack a 3DS, you can then jump directly to Three Houses. 3 Houses is a must, since Fortune Weaves seems to be a spiritual sucessor to 3 Houses (same world, same gameplay mechanics)

Other easily accessible games are Sacred Stones (available on Switch online) and Engage

And once you played through all of them, time to get playing Radiance Dawn, and all those glorious wars you played through before suddenly don't seem so glorious anymore...

Thats a lot of updated ports. And starfox/zelda shouldnt get the distinction or being exclusives. These are remakes of games we have played several times. Ocarina of time is masquerading as a big heavy hitting november title. But it just isnt. Its a remake. And Nintendo doesnt get credit for "updated ports" that is just so weak. If this is all they have in the tank for this year than that is some weak bullshit.

Possibly not selling good enough in their homeland Japan anymore while Switch 2 sells in all regions at least reasonably well.

Fair enough, but they just seem to avoid Sony. Like no presence in Sony shows and zero SE characters in the celebration of Sony that was Astro Bot. Just a bit weird.

They've definitely got some cards hidden throughout the Fall. It seems Nintendo is really taking "holding their cards close to their chests" very extreme... again, we didn't know about DKBananza's existence until three months prior to release. They also don't seem to be treating NS2 Editions as filling up the calendar, but rather as complementary to their NS2 lineup— just look at XenoX & Tomodachi Life (or MTFever), Fitness Boxing 3 & Splatoon Raiders, and Mario Wonder & Pokopia/Tomodachi.

The fact that they haven't even shared the release date for OoT remake is enough to convince me that they don't want a repeat of last year's September Direct, where all the holiday releases were known prior and the presentation ended up being a release date extravaganza.

Small teaser only. Boo.

Still, it was a very good direct if all you own is a Switch 2.

And the last SoP was really great if all you own is a PS5

The XBox Showcase was really great if all you own is a Xbox Series

Points for everyone!!! Except for multiplat (PC+) owners who can never be truly excited for a single closed platform presentation... :(

Sure, a handful of updated ports but even if we exclude them it’s 10 new titles (Switch-2, Switch 2-8) and remakes of big games have always counted as big releases.

Look at it this way, Nintendo’s 2026 includes:

New Entries-Mario Tennis, Tomodachi Life, Yoshi, Rhythm Heaven, Fire Emblem & Switch Sports

Spinoffs-Pokemon & Splatoon

Remakes-Star Fox & Zelda

Updated Ports-Animal Crossing, 2D Mario & Xenoblade

There is no way someone can look at that list and honestly think “that’s some weak bullshit”, you would either have to be trolling or bitter because their lineup doesn’t specifically cater to your needs.

It's safe to say Nintendo is all in on being the JRPG machine.
Switch 2 is getting so many JRPGs, and Day One at that.
Good for me and a lot of people, not good for those not into JRPGs maybe.
