The way I look at it is that people had their time to lose their minds back when Nate dropped the news. Sure it’s a tad bit disappointing we didn’t get that reaction from the Direct, but you can’t say people haven’t been running wild with this announcement for months. Easily one of the biggest reveals Nintendo could ever pull!
Well I will say this is the first time I've felt any spark of interest in the Switch 2 since the end of the April 2025 reveal when we learned DK instead of 3D Mario and ridiculous prices on everything.
Feeling like third parties are coming back to Nintendo pretty strongly for the first time in decades and Nintendo is starting to gradually get their first party offerings up and going.
Still too many of the releases are just Switch upgrades (so, basically just DLC not actually released games) as well as remakes, but that's sorta the sad state of the whole industry these days. But it does look like Switch 2's second year of life will have a pretty solid batch of games unlike the first 12 months.
Switch Sports Resort looks like it is much more of an effort than the disappointing Switch Sports, so that's cool. Very interested in seeing an OoT trailer. And the FF 2DHD game has me interested in a FF games for the first time in decades!

Sure, a handful of updated ports but even if we exclude them it’s 10 new titles (Switch-2, Switch 2-8) and remakes of big games have always counted as big releases. Look at it this way, Nintendo’s 2026 includes: New Entries-Mario Tennis, Tomodachi Life, Yoshi, Rhythm Heaven, Fire Emblem & Switch Sports Spinoffs-Pokemon & Splatoon Remakes-Star Fox & Zelda Updated Ports-Animal Crossing, 2D Mario & Xenoblade There is no way someone can look at that list and honestly think “that’s some weak bullshit”, you would either have to be trolling or bitter because their lineup doesn’t specifically cater to your needs. |
The only thing that those people look for is a new (no remake, remaster or Switch 2 édition) mainline (no spinoff) of a Nintendo heavy hitter (2D or 3D Mario platformer, Zelda, Smash, Animal Crossing, Splatoon, Kart, Pokemon and to a lesser degree, Metroid, Paper Mario and Luigi's Mansion), and since none of those has been announced yet, it's weak for those.
Needless to say that those guys are missing out on a lot of fun with the smaller titles...

Partly desagree. You reading it in rumor post doesn't trigger the same enthusiastic emotion (lose the mind) you would have seeing it for the first time in a official announcement, with images, gameplay (in this case, we didn't get that), logo and such
