1 hour of gameplay for 60 bucks?? Insane, is their any unlockables? Soo you want to keep replaying it?

Playing every level takes several runs, and there is both medals and high scores to chase as well as multiplayer.

It's not "1 hour of gameplay" at all.

It's one of my all time favourites as well! I never did manage to get every medal though, I remember there were like 1 or 2 levels I could never quite ace.

If you loved the 64 game you'll probably love this, it's a very faithful and respectful reimagining but also one that modernises the experience, in a good way.

You can go for all medals this time, haha! Really looking forward tot tomorrow lol.

Realistically, you'll need multiple playthroughs just to find the harder routes. And if you've never played the game before there's a high chance you're going to get a game over on your first run. Star Fox is a bit like a "rogue-like lite": There's many different routes you can take. For example you could go easy-easy-easy in one playthrough and then easy-medium-easy in the next and medium-hard-medium on the third.

Also, your three companions can go down in every mission (and will go down on your first couple of playthroughs) thus missing the rest of the stage and not being present in the stage after. Most likely you'll lose Falco in stage 1 on your first playthrough and he'll only be back in stage 3, etc. So there's dozens and dozens of variations of how a run can play out.

Also, it's an arcade game. It was made to be replayed and replaying levels is a lot of fun because you get better each time and uncover new stuff in every stage. Playing the game gets more fun the more you play it.

I hope we don't have to wait too long for another game after this. This series deserves more love.

Too bad I cannot play on expert mode right from the start. It is the second Nintendo game I decided not to buy (Skyward Sword was the first) because of this super weird decision. What a damn shame. Star Fox 64 is way too easy for me. Forcing me to replay the game multiple times to collect those damn medals to unlock expert mode is a baffling decision. Sad.

Hopefully its one of those things like how Prime 4 followed Prime Remastered or Pikmin 4 followed Pikmin 3 Deluxe, where a remaster/remake paves the way for the same dev to deliver a new entry not too long afterwards.

So, I played through my first run and I like it so far! The graphics are great, the music is amazing and I like the cut-scenes between missions. Some things I still have to get used to: Dialogue is sometimes too on-the-nose for me, some iconic lines have been changed and some of the sound effects are weaker than the original. But I'll play another run later today or tomorrow and see how it grows on me. Muscle-memory failed me from time to time! Also it's weird that they took away the ending cinematics after the easy ending. But overall, I'm impressed! I purposely played a "bad" run (lost Falco in stage 1, failed to accomplish the missions in stage 3 and 4) and I think I'll slowly work my way from worst route to best route lol.

Edit: Did anyone else do an easy / bad play through in purpose to start with? Or did you all just go in chasing those high scores? I just realized how many alternate routes this game has, as I want to unlock every cut-scene. And man, that's gonna be at least five play-throughs!

After DK Bonanza, this is the second Nintendo game that has Dutch Voice Acting. Subtitles we had for ages.

Really nice playing with my grandchildren that are to young to properly read or learned another language yet.

Thanks Nintendo!

Btw for those who are struggling on the new game but vets to the original 64 game. You're not rusty. This game has better controls and a better analog stick. Your muscle memory is throwing you off over correcting for N64's controls.
