Not liking the game and saying the writting was bad are two completely different things.

The writting is great. The way the story is structured to limit knowledge of events and work on them on two separatedly POV is objectively great.

There is really nothing bad about it at all, liking it or not is personal, people can definitely disagree on that, but it is good.

I'm open to discuss any kind of supposed flaw the game story or the characters, in writting, because of course humans have flaws, anyone is interested on.

Nothing on TLoU2 ruins Ellie whatsoever. Abby is a great written character.

You or me agreeing or disagreeing with their choices are completely different things, and that goes back to the end of TLoU1 where people spent years debating if what Joel did was right or wrong, that is not the point, what the characters do is believable to who they are, that's the point of good writting.

Also, the acting on TLoU2, like on 1, is superb and adds a lot of realism to those characters.

There's no such thing as "objectively" good or bad, as all human perception is inherently subjective.

LOL

There is nothing to “get” with the story in Last of Us 2. It’s just poorly written. And I don’t even care about Joel dying.

The writing ruins Ellie as a character, and the other character who I don’t even remember the name of was not a good character either.

I remember when it launched, everyone here was angry because leaks said you literally kill Ellie at the end of the game as Abby. I remember her name now. LOL good times.

Just admit your still hurt because they killed joel in such a fashion. I love Abby, she was fantastic lol

I like the idea of Joel’s murder spree coming back to get him. Doesn’t bother me at all that he died. Should have done it with less drama. Just another example of the bad writing.

Honestly most games that score 95+ are definitely overhyped. In general game review scores are ridiculous, compared to film, tv and music way too many games score way too high. I see a movie getting in the 70s on metacritic, I generally think it going to be a very solid movie. Most games scoring in the 70s is a disaster. We're at the point where a game scoring below 85 is often seen as a disappointment.

Can we not have TLOU2 ruin this thread. If you like it,like it if you don't you don't. If you don't like someone didn't like it as much as you do whatever. I hated Mario Kart Wii but OP loves it. So be it. It's not worth pages of back of forth of going nowhere.

Anyway another for the list. Lost in Shadow on Wii. Is a fun platformer. It takes some inspiration in vibe and music from Ico but still it's own thing. In the game you play as a boys shadow as he climbs a tower to reclaim his body. The Wii's pointer is a butterfly and can manipulate real world objects. The boys shadow can only run and jump on other shadows. So the butterfly manipulates real world objects to cast shadows for the boy. If I have one issue with it, it goes on a little longer than it needs to. Other than that the game is a legit hidden gem. I think it is the last game from Hudson Soft.

Didn't love TLoU2, too long. Too boring, meh characters. I would put it grossly overrated.

Been years since I played it, but I recall really liking Dark Sector on the 360. Got meh reviews but found it super fun.

Luigi Mansion got average reviews, top 10 for me all time. Love the setting, gameplay and puzzles.

Switch 2

There were quite a few games on Wii that got mediocre reviews but I really enjoyed; Medal of Honor Heroes 2, Silent Hill Shattered Memories, Deadly Creatures, Fatal Frame 2, the COD ports, the RE Chronicles titles, etc.

Angry Joe is a strong runner up to Major Nelson for most punchable face in the industry. Wonder if that trash show is still around.

Sonic the Hedgehog 4 - Episode 2 was a lot (and I mean A LOT) better than Episode 1, and even so, critics gave it a bad score. And the worst thing is that the only reason they gave Episode 1 a good score was to "support" SEGA so they would make more 2D Sonic games.
