Never saw all the endings for The House in Fata Morgana and too much of a noob I guess to get into Super Mario Kart and Mario Kart: Super Circuit. Don't get the hype (especially from critics) for those three games.

Last of us 2 is a great example. Terrible writing and pacing. I can appreciate what they were trying to do, but unfortunately it fell flat. The story completely falls apart if you think about it for more than a few seconds. The gameplay was great, it might have the best combat of any Naughty dog game. But that doesn't make up for all of its huge faults.

Days gone. One of the best open world games ibe played. Top 10 game for ps4.

You fit into that crowd that simply didn't get it. The writing was amazing, as was the game direction. And it's even better on the second and third playthrough.

It's possible to get something and still dislike it.

LOL

There is nothing to “get” with the story in Last of Us 2. It’s just poorly written. And I don’t even care about Joel dying.

The writing ruins Ellie as a character, and the other character who I don’t even remember the name of was not a good character either.

I remember when it launched, everyone here was angry because leaks said you literally kill Ellie at the end of the game as Abby. I remember her name now. LOL good times.

Just admit your still hurt because they killed joel in such a fashion. I love Abby, she was fantastic lol

I got it. It just wasn't very good. What are some of your favourite tv shows, films, books etc in terms of storytelling?

I'm not going to start listing, I've read and watched many acclaimed tv shows, movies , books.

At the subreddit for tlou2,  there are many who hated the story, and  more who loved it. There have been essays written how good it is lol. Normally those who didn't like it  were still in shock after what they did do joel, and couldn't adjust to the shift moving to abby. Then you had the other half who were able to understand why joel went out that way, and they actually gave Abby a chance. The shift from ellie to abby and so on wasn't as jarring.

I found the story that much better on my second playthrough though, and third. There was alot of dialogue that resonated more and picked up on, that initially passed because i was caught up in the action. Especially the slower paced moments and dialogue between secondary characters who i didn't initially care for, journal entries etc.

There is no in between, either you hated it or loved it lol

As I've said before. It has interesting ideas that are very poorly executed. I could write an essay on how poor a lot of the writing and charactersaion is. I've also read essays on how bad the writing is lol.

Personally I was fine with Joel dying. It's the execution (pun) that was the problem.

Also I don't hate the game. As I said in my first comment there are things I liked about it. They just don't make up for the big flaws.
