@Soundwave That’s a really good point. They do need something newer with Zelda for proximity to the movie if it’s a huge hit. There is a precedent for what I’m describing already as well via A Link Between Worlds. That’s essentially what I want from this (part remake, part something new entirely).

IMO they should aim for a stylized "realism" for OoT Remake, just like Kena. The sequel is looking even more incredible. Obviously, with Nintendo`s flair, but still, something like this would be great:

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Agreed, I am actually playing Kena now and it's a beautiful game, a similar style, maybe blended with the look of the 2011 Wii U Zelda demo, would suit an Ocarina remake beautifully.

I just hope they don't decide to radically change the art style to more like recent Zelda games, that would spoil the magic for me.

Ugh...making Ocarina in BotW art style would be really crappy thing of them, but I highly doubt they will do it.

How is a link between worlds a partial remake?  Remake of what?

I'm totally avoiding any spoilers (Ideally wouldn't of even known about it tbh), so I haven't read any of the thread but my dream is:

-Completely rebuilt with modern control and third person standards.
-Maintain linear story/development arc.
-Flesh out world with more detail/character writing, some new quests and items (but not too many, items should still feel special and rare)
-Be conscious to maintain the streamlined feel of the original (I don't want 1000s of different collectables and loot like in modern games)
-Artstyle which blends realism with Fantasy/stylisation ala Kena

I was wondering the same thing. Outside of borrowing the world-swapping mechanic from LttP, it's a completely original game.

I could see them doing some things with the time line of OoT (Adult/Child being distinct time lines that split the Zelda story entirely), they could change that around so that you can either have a "traditional" play through or you can influence it change things in the time line (and/or Ganon does) ... stuff like that. The game's story already has a mechanic there where they can change things if they want, the original ends with I believe three split time lines occurring as a result.

The original OoT had a lot of content cut out of the it, there was supposed to be a full ice dungeon, a Triforce quest, that was cut out or limited in the final game too. A lot of that could be reintroduced.

But we don't know what specific Zelda game the movie will be based on.

Zelda II needs to be remade. Foundationally the game is superb, but just too ****ing hard and needs more QoL.
