I hope its scores very well (late 80s) I never got far in the OG Ghost. There were too many games to play at the time and a few dated design elements like auto fail missions put me off. I hope this is the perfect time to jump into the franchise.

While everyone makes great points, I think we might be underestimating this. It may be the same but that's a good baseline and the improvements are extremely obvious. The visuals are also a done deal, there will be no stability or performance issues with this one. I think it also has the favour of releasing at a time when a sea of games just released and none of them set reviewers arses on fire so a quality game coming along will feel more praise worthy. Even though I'm staying with 89 I think we could see the highest score of the year so far at like 94 9r something. Perhaps it's wishful thinking.

Honestly I think it's going to come down to the quality of the story and the quality of the side activities, and perhaps what evolution the combat has with weapons replacing stances. I think if they nail these 3 the game will score really well. If they don't, I think numbers will drop.

But either way, Sony and Sucker Punch must be confident in good scores to have the embargo so soon before launch.

But I think either way I'll get the game next year and I am confident I'll enjoy it immensely.

To me it has RDR2 written all over it but totally agreed. This could end up with the AC shadows pacing issues if they have it structured like that with the Yotei six or worse, it could have writing like DA: Veilgaurd knowing the militant far left that control Sony studios now.

One thing though, I don't think side content is going to fail (apart from writing) they're just too good at that and they know it's what made Tsushima stand out next to AC bloatedness. And sure they kept the graphics similar but that tells me they focused on the game instead and let the artstyle do the work. The game already looks timeless, it'll be one of those games that still looks good in 20 years.

If it improves on its weaknesses it must pass 90...

89 it is. A little bit above what I was expecting. Happy for everyone looking forward to this game! Unfortunately, I’ll have ti skip b/c my current options for October are: Mario Galaxy 1/2, Pokémon Legends Z-A, and Final Fantasy Tactics…with DKBananza, E33, and KirbyATFL all in my backlog lol. (And a desire to dig further into MKWorld and Silksong.)

Stacked year!! Wow.

Good reviews, nothing earth shattering though.

Nothing earth shattering? What were you expecting? This is Sucker Punch’s highest rated released by a pretty comfortable margin.

I don't want to buy a PS5 version. I'll get it when it comes to PC instead.

I was interested until I saw they decided to change the protagonist.

What's wrong with them changing protagonists? I thought Jin's story wrapped up nicely in the first game.
