Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase set for July 31, 2025

I was expecting a regular direct but a third party focused one makes sense too since it's about time for the third party Switch 2 announcements to start picking up. I guess the next regular direct will be the first half of September as usual though Kirby Air Riders needs to get properly shown off very soon with it coming out this year but considering its developers it could fit a Partner Showcase. This being a Partner Showcase is nice since I was thinking it'd be a regular one and then there wouldn't be another one of those till February so good to see that they're probably back to normal Direct wise already. This should be a relatively strong Partner one I think.

I feel like Kirby might be delayed to next year. Theres really no great time for it this year I feel. Unless its their November release I guess. Theres still Metroid Prime 4, Splatoon Raiders and Elden Ring that needs dates.

Sucks its not a general direct - wanted to hear more about Switch 1 enhanced games on Switch 2 and other first party titles.

But I'll take third party announcements from Square Enix, Capcom, Namco, SEGA/Atlus, etc (mostly new - if its just straight ports, just gonna wait cause I rather buy them on PS5, Xbox or Steam).

Interesting, though as I own a PS5 most of the multiplats wouldn't interest me on Switch 2.
At this point, I think Nintendo is waiting until September for another standard Direct, and it will likely be massive with a big focus on 2026.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch 2: 120 million (was 116 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

Was hoping for a General as I'm hanging out for Prime 4/Kirby release dates and gameplay of the latter since they're both meant to be out in the next few months, but a Partner is better than nothing.

Hoping for the modern RE games, Sniper Elite 5/Resistance, and if I'm allowed to dream big, Doom: The Dark Ages.

How many directs does Nintendo do a year? I wonder if they are pushing for more directs, but shorter in length, verses having only a few a year but longer in length.

Around ten Directs per year, of which three are regular ones, three are partner showcases and four are indie Directs. Plus a variable number of game-specific Directs, such as this year's for Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza.

...

As for this specific Direct, I'd say we have already reached the point where gamers care less about the games that will be announced or detailed, and more about whether or not the games will get physical versions.

Arguably, 2024-2025 has been an odd year for them with those cuz we technically haven't got a general Direct this summer period, nor an Indie World since August last year .... Honestly, don't know when to expect another one of the later at this point.

Anywoo,

It's pretty fair game to expect a lot to be shown but also maybe ... Not that much ? I mean it depends how many games they're willing to cram into sizzle reels lol.

Also partnered games like Hyrule Warriors and Kirby Air Riders are likely fair games to be shown there.

Nonetheless my recent summer game buying spree has made me a happy gamer until the fall season so no rush to salivate over too many new games again haha.

I do know already the game Dear me, I was done by the same team at ArcSystem who did the Another Code remake. It's beautiful and an easy buy as well

I think Prime 4 will be November so Kirby should be September if it isn't delayed so if it doesn't get a proper trailer tomorrow or within 2-3 weeks that's probably it in terms of it releasing this year.

The 1 thing that disappoints me is that we won't get a release date for Metroid Prime 4 or a shadow drop for Primes 2 and 3. Other than that, I'm very excited to see what 3rd parties can bring to this new hardware.

Nintendo includes third party collaborations in these Partner Directs, so Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment will likely be there, along with potentially some newly announced co-productions.

I'm excited! I hope we see more exclusive, built-from-the-ground-up AA and A games, and fewer multi-platform AAA titles from 2024 and 2025. As a PS5 owner, I can play those elsewhere, with more reliable performance.
