I’m going to make the poll for this today, though it seems fairly straightforward who will win. It’s only going to include games that have released because this is meant more as a checkpoint than prediction. Should be up when I have some extra time.

Yeah if it wasn’t for Tempest Rising, this would definitely get my pick!

If Nintendo actually gets Metroid Prime 4 out this year, it would have to be a colossal piece of trash for it not to be my game of the year. I am a Metroid junky, and the Prime series is always something that totally engrosses me from start to finish.

I've mainly been working on my backlog, but as far as new releases for 2025:

1. Doom The Dark Ages
2. Ninja Gaiden 2 Black
3. Avowed
4. Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion Remastered

If money wasn't so tight I would probably have a Switch 2 now and Mario Kart World would likely be in my list of favorite games of the year so far.

40 hours into DS2. This ain't eclipsing my number 1, it's vying for second place but slowly, helm it may be third unless it pulls something spectacular but since I have not finished it yet my top 3 so far.

2. The First Berserker Khazan
3. Keepers Toll

Still gotta punish myself into KCD2, should be easier after Death Stranding 2.

I love Mario Kart and Monster Hunter, but Clair Obscur beats everything by a wide margin. Just like Elden Ring in 2022 the race for GOTY is already over early in the year.

I have not played any of those games, so for me it's Assassin's Creed Shadows with Nightreign being a close second.
Unless remasters count, in which case, Bravely Default takes the crown.
