Forums - Movies & TV - Your favorite PIXAR movie?

PIXAR Animation Studios made some of the greatest animations ever, according to a lot of critics and public.

So, what's your favorite PIXAR film?

Personally, I like a lot of them. Toy Story, Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo and Finding Dory, Cars... What about you?

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

Toy Story 1 and 3 probably.

The original Toy Story is still their masterpiece in my opinion.
A timeless story and a technical showpiece.

Finding Nemo is up there as well, gorgeous for its time and very entertaining.

Coco

I just love for the story, cast and it being a "Halloween" themed type of movie (Day of the Dead though).

I'm 50/50 on the announcement of Coco 2 - not sure what they can do considering the ending of Coco 1 was perfect, so not sure where the story can go - I'm assuming its gonna be a new story with a new cast of characters with the possibility of cameos from the first movie.

Anyways, I also like Toy Story 1 and 2, A Bug's Life and Finding Nemo.

I must have watched A Bug's Life and Toy Story 1/2 over a 100 times - back when no money and with limited amount of games/movies my parents would buy.

I watched Coco at least 5 times.

Edit: Inside Out 1 was great , 2 was okay but 1 I just found it really really good.

Edit 2: I also like Monsters Inc lol - University not so much...

A Bug's Life is the most underrated Pixar film. If you look at IMDb, Letterboxd, etc. it's often in the middle of the pack.

I'm not going to say I see it as Top 5 Pixar material but it's a great movie with great characters.

Pixar had a golden age in the 2000s. Classic after classic. It’s hard to pick between those, but I have settled on an absolute favourite.

Wall-E.

That movie is brilliance. I genuinely feel that is among a Top 5 best movies period. Not a word is spoken in the first half of the film, but it’s a top example of how to tell a story though picture instead of words. The other half of the movie is equally brilliant though. It is fun, it has a great story, great characters, great animation and a menacing villain.

Next to Wall-E in my opinion is Up. From the same generation of Pixar movies so to say. Up features what’s probably the saddest intro to any film ever made. And it makes for a bittersweet story afterwards, though ofcourse with lots of fun still. Other high points in Pixar movies after that are Finding Nemo, where the characterizations of all the animals were so clever, they just really fit, are recognizable, funny and memorable. Then also Monsters Inc., The Incredibles and naturally Toy Story itself were all great.

After that generation Pixar got into a bit of a lull if you asked me. The movies wouldn’t reach those highs anymore. Then the newer generation would include a handful of rays of light though, with Inside Out and Soul, which were very good again.

Love a lot of them, but my favourite without question is Wall-E. The first act in particular is exceptional, as the movies tells its story almost exclusively through visuals. The rest is excellent too, otherwise it wouldn't be the best one, but it's that first part that cements its position at the top.
