Subjective based on performance of the games.
FF7 Remake was a good game, showing on the process the last 25 years have made, it however as FF7 was crap, it's like a fan made remake compare to how good FF7 is, when they finish making it, and not charge £70 for basically DLC, let me know.
Crash remakes were good but the 'preciseness' of remakes because of modern graphics, hit detection and all that actually made them needlessly hard, as the old ones were a bit more forgiving because edges weren't presice, they were big and blocky and see through. Because of this it didn't feel the same.
Spyro was much the same for me, just prettier.
Can't comment on most of the others as haven't played them. RE games are updated to modern RE style of game play, look fantastic but vastly different asthetic.
You have to remember with older games of that era, we were going through a big growing phase with 3D and many modern standards had yet to be established, this gave way to experimentation. Many of the modern remakes outside of prehaps the platformers "remake" in such a way they update themselves to modern gameplay standards as well as graphics removing what made the games feel like those originals to begin with.
Are they better? not necessarily. Are they worse? Also, not necessarily.
I'll tell you one thing. My enjoyment from playing the originals far outweighs the new, as in even after the remakes have come out. Nostalgia is a hell of a kick.
Hmm, pie.
