Forums - Gaming Discussion - Forza Horizon 5 announced for PlayStation 5, coming this Spring

I used to play GT back in the day but I quit when it turned into the always online nonsense. GT4 might have been the last one I bought. It also tends to get very formulaic with the same tracks and cars and races, just more high fidelity.
Are the Forza Horizon games fun? I might have to check this out. If I can get past my disdain for Microsoft.

It feels the event horizon has been crossed.

Very fitting.

Sony want to make money by selling art, Nintendo want to make money by selling fun, Microsoft want to make money.

They're very different, but also quite formulaic with the same cars and races. There is some more unique stuff but also the cringe of the festival nonsense.

In the end FH is open world, arcade mechanics, races are ribbons on fantasy roads. It's fun for a while but doesn't hold my attention like racing classic cars around the Nordschleife in VR with dynamic time and weather.

FH4 is better than FH5 imo. FH5 just feels like a less fun setting with the exact same game structure. But if you haven't played any prior FH games, FH5 is perfectly enjoyable on its own.

Very fun. Judging by your issues with Sim racing, you'll enjoy FH5. It's essentially the "blockbuster" version of racing games.

The only downside to this announcement is that they will not reveal or release FH6 anytime soon now. Also, it's the first time they stop support of the current Horizon game before announcing the next game in the series.

It's crazy how many great games the XB1 had. This game will put GT to shame.

Still as pathetic as the day you joined this site. Actually, even before that while you still were in another site doing the exact same.

It's coming to Switch 2 as well according to a XBox leaker that's gotten several things correct in the past. Possibly a launch window title I would guess.

The only problem with it coming to the Switch 2 is its current massive file size which is 143GB.

They can probably compress that down some, but beyond that the Switch 2 has 256GB internal flash storage and it supports high speed external SD Cards too. That's not really a problem.

Forza Horizon is very fun. Forza Mortosport is a more serious simulator series, but Horizon is more oriented to make crazy things. Have lots of real cars from many different types including lots of european ones. GT was always too Japan brand focussed: too many subarus, hondas, mitsubishis, daihatsus, nissans, mazdas, toyotas... it is fine to get them, but not to put 4 "different" nissan silvia versions or things like that.

Also, Horizon 5 has huge variety of places, being based in Mexico.

Might even come to Switch 2.
