Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo Switch 2 Leaks are ruining my sanity

yeah i don't believe this at all. Nintendo is not releasing their next system 6w from reveal...not to mention: Nintendo Switch OLED is $450 in Canada.

400 CAD seems too low. That's a mere 282.37 USD.

March 3 seems way too quick. It seems way too convenient to launch Switch 2 8 years to the day of Switch. And I'm pretty sure if Switch 2 did launch that day it would hold the world record for fastest launch from announcement. 45 days is a tiny window.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 161 million (was 73 million, then 96 million, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million, then 151 million, then 156 million)

PS5: 115 million (was 105 million) Xbox Series S/X: 40 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million. then 48 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

But in our current time were trends move so fast it might be clever. Think of all the successful albums that dropped announced out of nowhere. Times change and Nintendo has usually been pretty smart marketing things barring the Wii U name. They launched a direct to circumvent e3 type events now nearly every console and game maker does it.

p.s. little bit awkward post from me...but this is gonna be my last post here for a little bit. (read my signature.) I've got math things to do...can't be wasting hours on VGChartz. I will be here in time for NSW2 reveal tho (b/c it'll be on January 30th, 2025 @ 5pm EST...i am now the leaker), but i just need to lock myself out for a few days. I might drop a comment or two btwn now on Saturday nxt wk, tho that depends on whether my impulses get the best of me.

In any case: I'll see you all around! If NSW2 gets revealed this week, I will come up with a way to spam this site for a day or two.

Welp, the software "leaks" from the French retailer FNAC was in fact a bunch of old junk listings with IDs of the URL placed beside said placeholder listings.

So basically bollocks and appart from the Microsoft stuff, we know none of the games coming on the platform lol.

So much for the blowout of leaks this week lol

The Master System was my first console, I loved it and stil do, but truth be told, Tectoy games are pretty bad to be generous, the licensed rom mods are okay I guess, but the stuff they made themselves is terrible.

I played MS when I was a child in some friend house, and some years ago I got an everdrive for my old Mega Drive and I could not resist to test some MS games on it. Just because I could. Including the TecToy's "brazilian exclusive" games.

Obviously, some own-made TecToy games, are just... crap. No surprises. Then, sometimes you even could find a game reusing assets from other MS games, and bootlegs of another games changing the sprite of the protagonist, etc.)

BUT... i must say... trust me if I tell you: some of the Tec Toy GG conversions they did, are good, or even very good MS games. I know what I'm saying. I played lots of MS games in the 90s. I'm not a fucking youtuber with no idea.

And Tec Toy's Street Fighter II official self-made in-house port (GG never got the SFII), is a VERY GOOD 8bit port, better than the one Capcom did for the original GB (except, maybe, the music).

@Wman1996 It is a tight window, but not too much different from Switch 1. We got a trailer in October followed by a blowout in January and release in March. Under this scenario, it would just be taking out the October trailer. Kind of makes sense because everyone already knows what the Switch is and it seems like the successor is for the most a part a more powerful Switch.

That being said, I don't really see a March release as being too likely. I'd still prefer a June release. Just seems weird to have XCX release that month and new system. At least with the 3DS & Switch, they kind of portrayed both as separate entities at first. Either an announcement by the investors briefing or announcing the announcement at the investors briefing (with the trailer a week or two before the Pokemon Direct) then a blowout in April and release in June.

I don't believe it will be in march, cause the fiscal year for the company does not end until 31st of march (day included).
So, it is more logic to launch the machine starting the new (fiscal) year, squeezing the Switch numbers until the very end, with no internal competition to affect its numbers this year. Next year Switch will get much smaller numbers, because Switch2.

April could very possible be the launching month. But who knows.

And yes, I KNOW Switch was launched in March. Probably because Nintendo needed that machine as soon as possible, after the disastrous WiiU years, including 2 years of net losses for the very first time in (at least modern) Nintendo's centennial history. Launching a new machine in the last month maybe even helped Nintendo to boost its profit that 2017 fiscal year. WiiU was presented in mid-2011 (in the E3) one year and a half BEFORE it's final launch, and during aaaaall that time the machine raised many questions and doubts, so... 2012 results (ending in March 2012) can also be added.

Apparently there may be a black market Switch 2 unit floating around circles in China according to a well known Apple leaker (so probably sources at Foxconn).

In the modern day I don't think you need much lead up to launch a system. 2months is enough unless there's tons of new software or gimmicks to digest but I'm not suspecting that to be the case.

We'll have 2 flagship Nintendo titles, probably one single player and one more family/party focused, with lots of late 3rd Party ports and a few small indie exclusives. Everything else will be launch window which will have sperate spotlights in the spring.

I'm hoping for an Aril Launch because I know so many Switch owners desperate for new big titles. Titles like Xenoblade will not ever register for the average Switch owner

The thing that just makes me so skeptical is that if Switch 2 really is coming out in March how have clips or cover art of the software not leaked yet?

I know most games don't leak, either from Nintendo or in general. But most major games are revealed at least 3 months in advance, if not a lot longer.

If Mario Kart or 3D Mario is out in March, it seems improbable seem leaker didn't try for it yet even while risking the wrath of the Nintendo Ninjas.
