Just Finished: Pokemon Trading Card Game (GB - NSO)

It is rare for me to replay games at this stage of my life. I couldn't resist dipping back into this game that I used to play and own back on the original Game Boy Color when I was a child. What a nostalgia trip! I beat the game in 13 hours over the course of a week. The game is addictive and fun to play. Winning takes a combination of good strategy and a little bit of luck. I really wish they kept this series going in parallel with the main series. The game seems to have sold well enough. It would have been easy to release a new version to correspond with each generation. Maybe someday I will check out the new mobile game.

Score: 9/10

Final Fantasy Type-0 HDPS47.0/10A solid game with plenty of potential that just fails to properly realize it. Too many things in the story go unexplained, too many characters are not properly expanded upon, and as such remain distant all the way to the end. The world the game creates is fascinating, but the disjointed story and lack of character development hampers the experience.
Ys: Memories of CelcetaPS47.5/10A very enjoyable action RPG with a likable cast of characters and a decent story. Doesn't overstay its welcome or stretch anything needlessly. There were some minor annoyances that hurt the experience a bit, but overall this was still a very fun time. Ys games are almost always at least good, and Memories of Celceta was no exception.
The Legend of Heroes:Trails into ReveriePS59.0/10Trails into Reverie is the 10th game I've finished in this series, and marks something of a splitting point in its storyline. It serves as an epilogue to both the Crossbell and Erebonia arcs of the series, and hints at things to come in the Trails through Daybreak games. As such, there's a definite sense of an interlude chapter here, and it certainly feels like there are multiple different main storylines fighting for room in the game. That said, it's still an really well-told story with literally dozens of returning playable characters that have been established over the nine previous games. Not among the series' very best, but great nonetheless.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift ApartPS58.5/10Pretty much exactly what everyone's come to expect from Ratchet & Clank. Smooth, highly entertaining gameplay with plenty of clever weapons, a variety of cool locations, and perhaps the best story in the entire series so far. Rivet and Kit are great additions to the cast, and the visuals are still very impressive nearly four years after release.

GoW Ragnorak. Jak 1. Kurushi, Jumping Flash!. GoW.

So after GoW, wasn't sure what to do but then got to talking with my mate at work about how 7th gen seemed to have more quick adventure games, got me wanting a new Uncharted but one in the vein of 1 2 and 3, so played Uncharted 2. I did a Donut Drake Hard speed run, this was mainly because of trophies. Clocked in at 7 hours... haven't played the game for 5 years, it took all of a long weekend being ill. :P

Then I decided to get some classic platforming in, so played Sly Racoon. The first one in the collection, not PS2 one. Took a little getting use to the camera at first but in the end, superb platformer as everyone always says. Would love to see a new one. Got the plat.

Hmm, pie.

3. Witcher 3: Blood and Wine Deathmarch - plan to play in May
4. 13 Sentinels Aegis Rim - latest Vanillaware game, going to play this one either before or after Blood and Wine
5. Romancing SaGa 3 - most of the way through the game, but I'm more of a fan of Romancing SaGa 2 despite this one having nicer graphics.
*6. Sea of Stars Multiplayer run - on hold (indefinitely) until they give the option for players to control their own characters in battle.

*Little rant: I'm not sure if this is a bug or a weird design choice to be different for the sake of being different - but, each player can control their own character on the map until a battle occurs. In battle, players don't get to control their own characters; instead, each time a character's turn comes up, no matter who it is, the player who commands the character in battle is randomly assigned. If it's a design choice, it's as nonsensical as if they made New Super Mario Bros Wii, where player 1 plays Mario, player 2 plays Luigi, player 3 Peach, and player 4 Toad - but when they get to a boss battle the game randomly assigns who plays which character.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Try to do Witcher 3 next, one of the best games ever :)

We'll see. I don't really plan ahead on what game I'm playing next. Once I finish one I just pick the next one based on what I feel like playing at that point. Could be Witcher 3 but who knows.

Just Finished: Super Mario Land (GB - NSO)

First time I ever played this Mario game even though I had a GB back in the day. It is a pretty simple and straightforward game in the vein of the original Super Mario Bros. There are only 12 levels and only 10 of them feature traditional platforming. The submarine and airplane levels are neat but play pretty much the same. The game does not feature a save system so players who wanted to beat it pretty much had to clear it in one sitting. The game takes around an hour to beat. It is pretty fun but nothing mind blowing. Must have been fun to have a Mario game to carry around in your pocket way back in 1989. This game introduced Princess Daisy, so it's had an impact on the series as a whole.

Score: 7/10

Honestly, choosing The Witcher 3 should be priority no matter how you're feeling. It is by far the best game on that list and scratches the itch of many genres, action to RPG to Narrative to monster hunter to part horror, to musical to damn I'm still playing this game after 10 years and 900 hours. It is a miracle of a game and choosing to play it you should feel blessed by the God's that you have bestowed such a gift. You might die tomorrow but would you have finished The Witcher 3? No. And death before finishing The Witcher 3 must be a miserable thing. You have a wonderful life ahead if you, just as long as you start The Witcher 3, you'll feel as if new purpose has been added, one with the soul goal to play The Witcher 3 and it's DLC once again.

Its amazing but I wouldn't replay it cos its so long I rather experience new games new stories

Changing my Blqck Myth WuKong score to 9/10. I was very depressed when I played that game. Went back in and played NG+ for a while and stripped back my character while diversifying with different spells and transformations so it would be less easy and feel different. I just realised how much fun that game is despite what I mentioned in my first blurb. A 9/10 is "Phenomenal with immense fun and great quality". While the quality is just passable and sometimes bad and the game is too easy to have no reason to learn most bosses movesets there are many other aspects that hold the game up and there is much that is 10/10 , no matter how you play. I even now see the level design changing from linear to open world and back again as a positive now, it kept things fresh.

I'll be heading back for a clean run at some point without upgrading the Monkey very much, I'm still thinking about how fun the game is a month on. Game stuck with me and made me better at dodging which I thought I was good at cause of TW3 one Death March difficulty but I'm pretty great now, feels like what Sekiro done for my parrying and took me from avoiding it to being pretty damn good at it. The curated version of the Boss Gaunlet is also an awesome challenge with new tough moves thrown in, Love it. The game is no masterpiece but it well above great and your brain ignores the jank when you're immersed. The Platinum also really adds to the game. I so rarely feel like returning to a game after a Platinum but this is one, a sign of a game doing something right.
