Forums - Gaming - The Arkham series is incredible

First played these games on the PS4 around 6 years ago.

Decided to buy them again on the Steam sale for PC.

I love these games, arkham asylum still holds up well to this day.

It's sad to see where Rocksteady is now after SSKTJL.

I thought this about Shadow of Mordor back in the day, then I played Shadow of war cause it was in my library, got it for free I guess and I couldn't understand what I had seen in the combat, it's all just one long QTE that never ends. There is no skill. I think I'd feel the same about Arkham and that game doesn't have the Nemesis system to make it interesting.

I want to like them. I tried to get into Asylum on both PS4 and PC. But I can't. Batman's movement is so goddamn clunky... It's like I'm controlling a giant robot. That's a no-go to me.

Yeah, they are very good. Havent played them since their launces, but I know I will still like them whenever I play them again.

It is very good series, though I still prefer first one, Asylum, the most, being one of the best 3D Metroidvanias out there.

Goated series! Batman feels great to control in combat with the free flow system that has yet to be replicated in another superhero game. Asylum is my personal favorite because it captured the atmosphere of Arkham Asylum and the characters perfectly.

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

I enjoy the series but Asylum is the only installment I’d call great. It works best as a Metroidvania, in my mind

I played the Rocksteady games in 2019 on PS4, then some Arkham Knight DLC in 2020 and then Arkham Origins and its DLC on PC this year.
I like the games, but they just don't feel as great as I'd like them to, and I have some story gripes as well. City's split focus between 3 main villains wasn't that good of an idea to me.
Most people say the Batman Arkham games are the best superhero video games but give me the Marvel's Spider-Man series.

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

I still got an Arkham Knight PS4 which I got used.

Anyways I just dropped in to give my controversial ranking

  1. Arkham City
  2. Arkham Knight
  3. Arkham Asylum
