Gonna give Ai Limit a try since Wuchang left me frustrated at how poorly designed it is and my souls itch was n9t scratched. I pulled out a couple Souls/nioh likes I have in my backlog, Astergios Curse of the stars and Rise of the Ronin if Ai Limit doesn't hit. I'm finding it really hard to get any other genre going, Kentucky Route zero, Cathrine FB, Banishers GoNE, Habroxia and dead space are all on my home page and I've tried them multiple times but nothing sticks, the only game I'm maining and returning to and enjoying is Soulstone Survivors.
It's turned into a really unique Hoard Survivor game with lots and lots of dodging AoEs and shear chaos on screen, it feels way more engaging than Vampire Survivors in the immeadiate play but the upgrades which come very quick and there is an upgrade for increased EXP so they can be near every 10 seconds but they don't feel quite impactful, I wouldn't say it feels like getting stronger but more easily able to survive and the enemies are constantly scaling past you in these later game modes. There's one mode which has you reset your build 4 times in a match and the higher tier versions of it are insane, this is less bullet heaven and more Hoard Survibor hell, it takes serious attention and focus to time dodges around the map and not get crushed by a gang or end up in front of a big boss and there can be multiple of those in the tiny arena at the same time and then you have to take on a mega boss with a severely limited build cause it got reset and hope you get lucky on that forth run and then there is what they call the Titan hunt mode, this shit ain't easy cause you can't build into a tornado of instant death in this game.
For now, Wuchang remains installed. I uninstalled it but apparently I can't walk away from a souls game if I'm deep in no matter how sickeningly terrible it is. I hope that the games design flaws don't get drown out by the performance issues and they balance the game just even slightly better and rework some of it but I hold no hope, I'll return fresh headed or I hope this game will fade out of my memory after I finish another Souls game.
