I, uhh... Surely that's a made up name?

Hey! That is the second Kyle Hyde game, the one made by Cing and that Nintendo could remake for Switch as they acquired the rights and recently released a remake of the other Cing series Another Code. And I took the 'puzzle' as a soft hint that it is a puzzle adventure.

I see. Yeah I thought maybe using the word "puzzle" in there might be misleading... but hey, some people call it Puzzelda!

No. 38. Resident Evil 4 2005

(remastered ps4 version)

I believe after a short while with REmake 4 and seeing the direction that game takes, that this to still be the greatest version of this game for it's arcadey fun gameplay. Nothing to say besides that this is a really fun title that leans more into a progression focus third person shooter with a coat of survival horror paint and it does it really well. It's flawed yes and you can pick off many annoyances but It's still as fun today as it was back then and that's the reason for gaining entry on this list, a sign of a great game when it doesn't loose it's fun factor after nearly 20 years and the age of the game falls away as you play from immersion.

Need to catch up - first set of clues below (sort of thrown together)

50
R > G. G > B. B > R.

49
There could be up to 4 previously unvisited countries on your itinerary.

48
Those precious collectibles are found in the levels here, rather than in bonus stages like in its more powerful namesake.

47
Robotic animals take each other out in this title from the developer of one of the biggest franchises of all time.

46
The playable character is like the antithesis of Freddy Krueger.

45
You end up solving everyone else’s problems whilst trying to solve your own.

Change YoY: =   My Rating: 9.1 / 10

Spiritfarer is a beautiful game, in every sense of the word. Obviously the visuals are gorgeous and the music is wonderful, but the story, characters, the setting, and everything else is just as beautiful. I genuinely can't think of a better word to describe this game. Touching, emotional, bittersweet, relaxing, they all apply, as do so many other descriptors, but after all other words are used, the one that I always go back to is beautiful. While the game's basic premise is that you're the new person in charge of ferrying the spirits of the dead to the afterlife by helping them overcome any regrets they might have had in life, the real core of the experience are the characters that you spend time with on your ship.

Spiritfarer can be an absolutely heartbreaking experience at times, which all stems from you spending time and learning new things about the characters that join you on your ferry. As they learn to accept their deaths, you must accompany them on their final journey onward, and it's never easy to let go of these characters you've learned so much about and become attached to in the preceding hours. Of course, the game has so much more to offer than that, like upgrading your ship, traveling around the game's world discovering new fantastic locations, completing quests for various characters you meet along the way, and then sometimes just sitting down to watch the sunset on the deck of your vessel.

There are very few games that have made me genuinely tear up, and Spiritfarer belongs into that group. Playing through it was an experience I will likely never forget, moreso for the fact that I played it through with my wife. I'm not sure if I will ever go back and replay it because much of the power of the experience came from doing all those things for the very first time and finding out the stories of the many characters that come along for the journey on your ship and then eventually move on to the next phase of their existence. It was, as mentioned, a beautiful experience, and I can't wait to see what the people behind it do next.

Let's give it additional hints before revealing and go to the next batch so I can catch up:

#44: Hack isn't enough anymore, you need to slash.
Still as text, except with a tileset mod.

#43: Adorable dating sim... where one of the character really, really wants to date you. Doki Doki Literature Club as guessed by haxxiy.

#42: The grandmother of colony sims got a fresh layer of paint with this. Dwarf Fortress (Steam version) as guessed by UnderwaterFunktown.
We need our mushroom beer!

#41: Kittens will take over the universe!
From humble beginnings in the catnip forest to space travelling and time manipulation.

#40: You really need help sometimes. (not: It takes Two)
This is cozy multiplayer.

#39: Each year a new task for you to solve, while the machines take over the world.

#38: Lovecraftian horrors await you in this mansion.

#37: Collect coins to build defenses and attackers - but in the 80s.

#36: Pen&Paper Roleplaying game turns board game turns video game.

#35: Go on an epic quest, visit the Sorcerer's Lair, while encountering the Paranormal and meet a Shaman and draw Excalibur.
