Final hints for these.

43- One of the surprise entries from 2022. While an extremely easy game with its strategical gameplay, still it had quite the interesting story and some of its design choices were used in FFXVI.

Honestly this game could have been a FF game, but instead had its own lore. The continent in the game is featured in the title.

The game released on all major platforms in 2022, and features music from composers who worked on Game of Thrones.

The mercenary company you work for has 4 leaders, Andrias Rhondarson, a royal bodyguard who knows ancient sorcery, Fredret Lester, his childhood friend, Iscarion Colchester, an archer and former noble, and Waltaquin Redditch, a mage noblewoman.

41- This is my cheat JRPG, because it is more strategy than JRPG (thus loses spots on my top 50 JRPG list) but you can still level up your army in battle.

In order to level up, you must deal the finishing blow, and the game can be quite difficult, so you can't really make a certain unit stronger and one weaker as all units available will be needed in every battle. But you can team up on enemies, so sharing the last bits of an enemy by surrounding them can be effective.

set in 3 kingdoms China, unlike other games made by the publisher, this game featured a story with a lot more imagination, with the 2 main characters fighting over a woman they probably never met historically.

Also more imagined is the fact that the strategist characters can fly up into the air and use magic.

Got busy with life and stuff so I am playing catch up..

43 is The Diofield Chronicle.

41 is Kessen 2

Hints for 40-33 JRPGs

40- Tactical JRPG set in China. 1st game in the series.

39- 15th game in the series for a certain JRPG series. Features boy band as main characters.

38- A PSP game gone HD, this game features a main story with an entire classroom of characters named in some way after a deck of cards.

37- 2nd game in a tactical JRPG series. The main character uses fists unlike most main characters in the series.

36- An amazing game released in 2023, features insanely cinematic boss fights and darker story compared to usual.

35- This game mixes a famous JRPG series and Dynasty Warriors, killing hordes of JRPG monsters never felt so good.

34- Same as 35, but 2nd game in the series. Basically more of the same but slightly better.

33- This 2022 game tries to mix the challenge of Soulslike with the familiarity of FF.

#39: FFXV

#36: Probably FFXVI

#35: Hyrule Warriors, even though I don't see Zelda as JRPG, see 34 for explanation.

#34: I thought of Persona Strikers as #35. But I don't think Strikers has a sequel yet. So maybe you count Zelda as JRPG? Which would make it Age of Calamity

Hinting it up again:

29) Starts the way the last game teased, but definitely not in the way people expected

This game has two characters that fit the titular moniker

Another fitting titles for these games would be Gods and Monsters

27) Starts with falling

Behind the jokes there's a fairly dark story

Don't trust the flower

26) Who doesn't love annograms?

You have a party of characters instead of just one

A more fitting name for the battle theme would be Move Buster

#27: Undertale

#26: Bust-A-Move aka Puzzle Bobble?

Undertale is right, 26 is not because its...

#26 - If Mnementh is right about #27 then it would make sense for this to be Deltarune.

Deltarune indeed

Correct!

If Mnementh is wrong about the Zelda thing then 35 and 34 could be Fire Emblem Warriors and Three Hopes

Ni No Kuni

Yep, a shame they didn't stay on for Ni No Kuni 2, nor the 2019 movie

Ah, right, why didn't I think about that. Fire Emblem can count as JRPG, that makes a lot more sense.

A few incorrect guesses, but none of these have correctly been guessed yet. Second set of hints it is then;

#30: Even though your character and your immediate team members are new characters, this game also features many familiar faces from the tv-series this game is based on.
Hint 2: It also features many of the show's enemies, like a certain famous collective, and even their immune adversaries.

#29: This game features a rather original solution to prevent you from going out of bounds as you'll just get blown away halfway across the map if you try.
Hint 2: This happens in two of the game modes, which feature a big open desert area for you to drive in, when you ride up the steep cliffs on the edges and actually manage to reach the top.

#28: Gone in 60 minutes.
Hint 2: Not you though, rather your objective who will be dead in 60 minutes.

#27: Though this is technically made by another company, it was branded by its publisher as part of a well-known, wider series where each game's name has a certain prefix.
Hint 2: That series deals with a whole bunch of themes; like ants, earth and cities.

#26: Try to keep your units away from the 'inquisitors', they're relentless and basically always win.
Hint 2: Even your highest ranking family members aren't really safe, especially if you aren't sufficiently catholic. I guess it's because of those inquisitors' high 'piety'.

#30 - The Walking Dead?

Incorrect. Mnementh after you correctly guessed the game to a Star Trek game (but he didn't guess the right one).

Mnementh said:

#30: OK, this *has* to be a Star Trek game. Problem is, there is a lot of them. Like really, really many. So let's skew recent-ish (meaning last 20 years instead of up to the 70s) and maybe console. I hear people like Bridge Crew, so let's go with this one.

#27: Uh, I don't really know which one is not by Maxis, Sim Town maybe?

30 is indeed a Star Trek game. I realise there's multiple that could fit with the hints, but at least, it's not Bridge Crew.

27 is quite close, and again you have the right series. I played SimTown as a kid, was fun enough, but I'm looking for another 'Sim' game much more important to me.
