#50 | A perfect mix between horror and action, framed with a story suitable for a good B-movie with twists and turns that make little sense, but in a good way. Upon playing Resident Evil: Revelations, it quickly became my favourite 3DS game, and even one of my favourite games of all time. At the time of release, this game was quite an impressive sight on a subtle handheld such as 3DS. In fact I personally hadn't seen a better looking game on any handheld before the release of the Switch. It is also a great showcase of the system's 3D effect, which I was actually a fan of. |  |
#49 | Around the turn of the millennium the SEGA Dreamcast was the dominant video game system in our house. We even had two; one for the living room, and one for the third floor where the desks with our PC's were. Why was one there? Well to easily test all those illegally downloaded games of course. At this point, downloading games was so easy, my stepfather downloaded pretty much everything. Most were forgettable, but some games would actually fit well with the rest of us and actually get some decent playtime. Dynamite Cop was one of those lucky few. Of course, afterwards we did at some point buy an original copy. |  |
#48 | Lots of times I will prefer a game that is bit slow, for a quiet, relaxing time with no stress and pressure. I don't remember why I got it, but at some point I ended up with Professor Layton and Pandora's Box, which turned out to be a good thing. Solving puzzles and questions can never be as engaging as when it is an integral part of a fun and mysterious story with great characters and cool backdrops like in the Professor Layton games. Personally I have played several, and I would be interested in the upcoming Switch entry, but Pandora's Box will always have the edge simply because it was the first I played. |  |
#47 | This is a game that probably shouldn't have aged well and it also seems like this today can just be part of a bigger game with its short gameplay loop. Admittedly I haven't played this game in a very long time. So maybe it's not fun anymore. But can that be? Something that was fun at one time should surely stay fun? A big part of the experience was of course the soundtrack. Crazy Taxi's soundtrack really gets you going and has you take just that extra bit of risk to get those customers to where they want to go. |  |
#46 | Is Soccer, a crude black-box NES game, objectively the #46 best video game ever made? Probably not. However there is some merit to this, as surely there is something to say in favour of simplicity. No tricks and fancy moves and stats for individual players, no, just a button to shoot. What more do you really need? Personally this game means much more to me though, it is part of a special few that would shape me as a person and also in my preference in games. Not all of those games made this list, but this one for some reason, has remained one of the most memorable. |  |

45. Steamworld Dig 2
There is something very addicting in digging deeper and deeper into the ground for valuable minerals, taking them easier in early stages of the game then having to mine carefully to ensure they aren't ruined by acid or dynamite in later stages. Those minerals let you buy all sorts of upgrades which only improves your set up to mine deeper and gather more. The children yearn for the mines, as they say. But that's only one part of the gameplay loop. Aside from collecting resources you explore deeper and deeper to unlock new abilities, discover secrets and nab amusing little collectibles. It's an iteration on the first game's style, but with more and bigger ideas and a stronger story. Plus, if you manage to explore and collect everything it opens up a hellish final level that will test even hardened players.
One more hint. This is turning out to be more difficult than I expected.
