Just Finished: Gravity Rush 2 (PS+ Extra)

Kat and Raven were giving off serious WAIFU vibes in this game. I played Gravity Rush Remastered on the PS4, but this game being built from the ground up for the console definitely shows a whole new level of grandeur and ambition. There are still signs that this game wasn't afforded the same AAA budget of some other Sony games, namely the made up language for voice acting and the comic book style voice acting. The story is all over the place, even though I played the first game, I felt lost when it came to certain plot elements. The new area and city are nice to explore. I sort of rushed through the game and didn't play many side quests or extra content because I wanted to complete it before my PS+ subscription ran out. Traveling around with the gravity powers is still really fun. The combat hasn't evolved much. The new gravity styles were a neat idea to add variety but they both felt worse to play than the standard play style. Some of the missions were repetitive and some puzzles overstayed their welcome. Still I enjoyed the game for its unique ideas and charming presentation. I think I would welcome a third game in the series, but I get the sense the developers knew not to push their luck and that this may be their last go around, so they tied up all the major loose ends plot wise. Don't show the end credits when only 75% of the game is done.

Score: 8/10

It's primarily been remakes/remasters for me so far this year lol

1. Hi-Fi Rush (PC) which is the only new game I've beaten so far
2. Resident Evil 2 Remake (PC)
3. Resident Evil 3 Remake (PC)
4. Metroid Prime Remastered (NS)
5. Just finished Dead Space Remake (PC)

I'm currently working on the Resident Evil 4 Remake on PC and hopefully by the time I've finished it, The Last of Us Part I will finally be in a fully playable state lol. After that, finally gonna get to play Advance Wars 1+2!!!

Completed RE4R, fantastic game and definitely a GOTY contender. I decided to take a little break from the Survival Horror binge of 2023 and went back to some childhood favorites. Unfortunately, The Last of Us on PC is still busted lol, so I'll probably play another childhood favorite until more patches release.

6. Resident Evil 4 Remake (PC)
7. Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (NSO)
8. Donkey Kong Country (NSO)

Been a while since I've updated my list.

1. Hi-Fi Rush (PC) which is the only "new" game I've beaten so far lol
2. Resident Evil 2 Remake (PC)
3. Resident Evil 3 Remake (PC)
4. Metroid Prime Remastered (NS)
5. Dead Space Remake (PC)
6. Resident Evil 4 Remake (PC)
7. Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (NSO)
8. Donkey Kong Country (NSO)
9. Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade (PC)
10. Crisis Core - Final Fantasy VII - Reunion (PC)
11. The Last of Us Part I (PC)
12. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (PC)
13. Goldeneye (NSO)
14. Pokémon Stadium (NSO)
15. Tyranny (PC)
16. Advance Wars 1+2: Reboot Camp (NS)

Probably going to be playing Baldur's Gate 3 till Starfield releases

Life must work in mysterious ways cuz I didn't manage to complete a single game since the release of Zelda in May, yet I managed to complete 2 games in the spam of 2 weeks lol.

Welp, I can go back into the fun Zelda TOTK grind 💪

Finished games :

- Live A Live, 100%(Switch)

- Pacman World Re-Pac (Switch)

- Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed (Switch)

- Octopath Traveler II (NS)

Master Detective Archives: Rain Code (NS) - Not a fan of Danganronpa but surprisingly the game felt more in a line with an Ace Attorney game than I thought. Small annoyances with few characters aside. Best VN Adventure of this year so far.

- Kirby Return to Dreamland Deluxe (NS) - Though the base game is quite underpar for 2D Kirby games that followed. The post-game epilogue is also some of the best 2D action platforming the series offered so my opinion has quite taken a positive turn !

Currently playing :

- Zelda Tears of the Kingdom (NS)

- XC3 Future Redeemed (NS)

To be played :

- Anonymous ; Code (NS)

- Professor Layton and the Unwound Future (DS)

- Super Mario Wonder (NS)

Updated

Switch Friend Code : 3905-6122-2909

Finished:

1. Hades (PC)
2. Gris (PC)
3. Salt and Sacrifice (PC)
4. Death's Gambit: Afterlife (PC)
5. Dragon Quest VI (DS)
6. Mega Man 10 (PC)
7. Nioh 2 (PS5)

Currently Playing:

1. Stephen's Sausage Roll (PC)
2. Crystal Project (PC)
3. Nioh 2 DLC (PS5)

Haven't played all that many new games this year, but I played some older ones, and I'm still going. I'm currently practicing finishing a game before I install a new one.

So far, this year, I have;

Horizon: Zero Dawn with expansion (on PC, already finished once on PS4).
Baldur's Gate 1 with Tales of the Sword Coast (currently playing BG2 again before I plunge into BG3).
Mass Effect 1 and 2, about halfway done with 3. Ran into a lot of technical difficulties on PC with the Legendary Edition, but its been fun overall.
Diablo 4, campaign only. My one character is still only level 61 and I've yet to join the current season.
Red Dead Redemption 2, which was a real spectacle on my new rig. Played it once before on PS4.
Far Cry 6; the weakest of the bunch of mainline entries so far. Nothing really new, nothing really fun, over-the-top characters etc.
Pathfinder: Kingmaker (again). It's simply brilliant.

Not a huge list, but most of the games are quite long. This fall and winter, I have my sights set on BG3, Cyberpunk 2077 with expansion, replaying TW3, Starfield, STALKER 2 (if the rumored release is correct), A Plague Tale: Innocence, Icewind Dale Enhanced Edition, plus the two Jedi games starring Cal Kestis (got Survivor for free with my rig).
