Kat and Raven were giving off serious WAIFU vibes in this game. I played Gravity Rush Remastered on the PS4, but this game being built from the ground up for the console definitely shows a whole new level of grandeur and ambition. There are still signs that this game wasn't afforded the same AAA budget of some other Sony games, namely the made up language for voice acting and the comic book style voice acting. The story is all over the place, even though I played the first game, I felt lost when it came to certain plot elements. The new area and city are nice to explore. I sort of rushed through the game and didn't play many side quests or extra content because I wanted to complete it before my PS+ subscription ran out. Traveling around with the gravity powers is still really fun. The combat hasn't evolved much. The new gravity styles were a neat idea to add variety but they both felt worse to play than the standard play style. Some of the missions were repetitive and some puzzles overstayed their welcome. Still I enjoyed the game for its unique ideas and charming presentation. I think I would welcome a third game in the series, but I get the sense the developers knew not to push their luck and that this may be their last go around, so they tied up all the major loose ends plot wise. Don't show the end credits when only 75% of the game is done.
Score: 8/10
