I think SE saying some of their titles not meeting sales expectations is a ploy of some sorts, because with TR 2013 they said the same thing. They still went on to publish two sequels after it and the sales for all the trilogy games were pretty good. After Marvel's Avengers they still went ahead with Guardians.

They also look at protential sales and with Tomb Raider they forecasted that the game could meet expectations, thats why they put the effort in. Its not always black and white though.

If I remember correctly, I think I saw a video from Matt McMuscles youtube channel the other week, but it was about the rise and fall of Sleeping Dogs, and at that time SE had 3 games IP's to choose from to push forward, and TR was that one they chose to push forward, which makes sense with how they put more effort into that IP and gave it two sequels, while Sleeping Dogs was left to the wayside to rot.

It makes sense to go with TR.

Okay, a LOT of pages, but I saw this thread because I remember seeing this "news"... and it honestly concerns me a bit about Platinum Games. I already knew what most people didn't at the time: Scalebound was NOT coming along well and it wasn't some "bad call by MS" that people think it was. And while I am SUPER eager to get Bayonetta 3, I'm also worried it'll be worse than Bayonetta 2 (which I enjoyed MASSIVELY). Releases like this further concern me... They might need to start focusing more on singular projects at a time and not spread themselves so thin...

This is why SE is shitting out some poor ports and games that no one asked for (babylon's fall, Outriders, Wonderland). I'm just going to wait for them to whine about their poor sales expectations, and to see them yet again pin the blame on someone else, instead of themselves.

Maybe we shouldn't talk about who buys and saves Platinum, but instead about who buys and saves Square from themselves.

You are claiming to know the game was in a bad state before most of the rest of us knew? Are you claiming to be an insider or leaker?

Not my fault my inbox is filled with blurry cell pics of emails stating "this is a leak, please don't tell the world about this, it's top secret information, punishable by death, DO NOT TEMPT FATE"

When you get up each morning, somewhere between spitting out the toothpaste, spraying Big Sexy Hair on your head, and reading Don Quixote in Latin for 5 minutes, do you ever just stare at yourself in the mirror and quake in awe at your superiority to the rest of us?

Nope: just before actually beginning the work day, I curl up into the fetal position and cry in awe at the pitiful state of it all and how meaningless existence is, especially mine with my failed channel and my dead-end fulltime job that reminds me neither of my life's avenues are worth dying for.

Welp, so much for "Maybe the Nier collab will make me interested in the game".

I'm unsure if you can unlock things by playing the event, or if spending real money is the only way.
Finding information about this game has been really difficult. Probably because no one is playing it.

20 per costume lmao, jesus SE really trying to reach for whatever fans it can attract with the game.

At this point the game really is living up to it's name.
