I think the cutoff for announced games will be late May or late August, depending on how many General Directs they plan this year.

Seems to be the end of the summer, September - and I think it was just the one game (Xenoblade Chronicles 3). I came close without going over, which COUNTS in the Price is Right :D

Next general Direct will probably be June or July, and they'll do most of the rest of the year, then.

2017 had an Atelier game though. It was 2020 where no Atelier game released in the west.

You have it all wrong.

Lydie & Suelle was the first Atelier game on Switch in March 2018. 2020 had the Dusk Trilogy in January.

I just looked it up on the Wiki article for the franchise and it said Atelier Firis released in 2017, but I didn't realize it wasn't on the Switch yet. Lol

Wow.  I didn't think they'd do it, but they did.  I didn't think Wii Sports was ever coming back.  Nintendo is trying to bring the whole Wii crowd over to the Switch.  And there is a chip shortage.  What are you thinking Nintendo?  Switch is going to be sold out for a long ass time.  Now I want my 2D Mario game, lol.  If you are bringing back Wii Sports, then you better bring back 2D Mario too.

Overall, a very solid Direct.  There was no single new reveal that I felt was tailor-made for me, like Triangle Strategy or Age of Calamity were when they were first revealed.  On the other hand I saw a whole lot of games that looked really fun to play.  Also, I feel Nintendo is trying to take over the world.  Not only did they announce Switch Sports, but the Mario Kart DLC doubles the current number of tracks.  From a sales perspective, this is the Direct where Nintendo makes it obvious that they are taking over the world, lol.

My impressions of some of the games:

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes - Looks fun, and I will probably get eventually.  I want to play through 3 Houses first though, which I still haven't done.
Advance Wars Reboot Camp - Will buy soon.  I want Nintendo to make new ones.  Also the online mode sounds fun.

No Man's Sky, Mario Strikers, Chrono Cross, Klonoa - Look fun, but I don't have enough time to play.  Too many other good games

Kirby and the Forgotten Land - This is the first Kirby game that I am kind of excited about.  I don't even really like 3D platformers that much either.  Something about this game looks kind of cool though. Will probably buy eventually, but not at launch.

MLB The Show 22 - Ok, I just died laughing.  I already knew this was coming to Switch, but the best part is just freezing the screen when they show the box.  You can see the Switch logo and the PS Studios logo right on the cover of the box.  I just find that really hilarious.  It definitely looks like a Playstation game, but it's coming to Switch, lol.

Portal Companion Collection - Will buy.  I never thought I'd get to own a physical version of Portal.  As long as there is a physical version, I'll buy it.

Live A Live - I was looking forward to DQ3 for this Direct, because I really want to play more HD 2D games.  I don't know much about this game, but I will very likely buy it (assuming physical).

Nintendo Switch Sports - Will buy.  I mean, why wouldn't you buy this?  The new sports look cool.  I like that you can play soccer and strap the joycon to your leg.  I like that there is online play too.

Taiko no Tatsujin - Will probably buy at some point.  I have the first game with a basic drum.  I want to get the RPG entry of this game first, but I'll likely get this game at some point.

Triangle Strategy - Will buy at launch.  It's my most anticipated game in this Direct.  From the first demo, the story seems tedious, but the gameplay is super fun.  Looks very fun overall.

Cuphead DLC - Sigh.  I will even buy this digitally.  I am mad that Microsoft hasn't given us a physical version of the game, but it's a great game.  Will buy the digital DLC.

Mario Kart DLC - Will buy.  Also, I don't think Mario Kart 9 is ever coming.  It's not coming to Switch and probably not to Switch 2 either.  They will port MK 8 to Switch 2 will all DLC included.  It will be a frikken huge game, but it also means that they don't have to make a new Mario Kart for a really long time.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 - Looks gorgeous.  Maybe the best looking game I've seen on the Switch yet.  I probably won't play it unless the reviews are exceptionally good, but damn it looks beautiful.

Overall, lots of solid games in this Direct, and Nintendo will definitely be getting a fair amount of money from me.  However, none of the new reveals had a wow factor for my tastes.  Instead it was more of a "Wow, I never thought they'd do that" from Switch Sports and really Mario Kart 8 too.

I just can't get my head wrapped around this direct. Major, surprisingly announcements JUST... KEPT... COMING! One of the best directs in many years, maybe the best direct in many years!

I truly, honestly, do not understand people who didn't like it or found it meh. I mean, COME ON, look at this list:

Nintendo Switch Sports - Online, more sports than Wii. This is going to attract a TON of casuals.
Mario Strikers - Strikers is the best and most popular sports game Nintendo ever made. This looks insane and all of Europe is going to explode. I hate soccer as a sport, yet I loved playing this game on GameCube and am so pumped for this!
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 - A game connecting 1 and 2 within a massive world. The art! The graphics! The story! The non-NSFW content! It's so beautiful!
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Getting SO many new courses it's basically a new-game's worth of content, and for less than half the cost of a new game or no cost for those of us who smartly subscribed for NSO Expansion!
Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes - The Warriors games just keep coming and narratively connecting and expanding on stories that fans love. Even if you don't love this style of game, these are narratively rich games. Hyrule Warriors is one of my favorite games of all time because of the great story, cutscenes, and scenes where you play villians. This is so hype for fans of Warriors and/or Three Houses!
Splatoon 3 - Coop mode looks pretty cool. I'd like to have seen more, but this game will get a big blowout direct no doubt and an E3 showing.
Mother 1/2 - Coming to NSO for free. DOPE!
MLB 22 - A major Sony game coming? Awesome!
Chrono Cross Port!
Front Mission Remake
Live A Live!
Klonoa Phantasy 1/2 ports/remasters/remakes (I can't tell?)
GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon
SD Gundam Battle Alliance
Lego Brawls

Then we got other filler stuff I've either already played or don't care for, but which is awesome for people that didn't get to experience them already like Portal 1/2, Disney Speedstorm, No Man's Sky, SW: The Force Unleashed, Ass Creed Ezio collection, Taiko no Tasuj.

This isn't even (mostly) including games we got to see more of that were already announced before. I don't remember the last time Nintendo had so many BRAND NEW announcements in one video!

Remember when Nintendo was at its worst between 2015-2016 and trolls would post those PS4 box art mock-ups of Nintendo games?  I got a good laugh when I saw that Sony logo.

This Direct seems like it was made special just for me. Great stuff.

My expectations were low, and they were blown out of the water. While not the best Direct ever, this was better than a lot of E3 Directs and Directs in general.

Force Unleashed; Really surprising. Interesting that they're porting the Wii version instead of the 360/PS3 versions.
Switch Sports; RIP Miis. Nintendo mostly wants them reserved for user icons. I'll try out the Online Test Run this month.
Fire Emblem Warriors: Patiently waiting for a new Fire Emblem game. Only put a few hours into the first Fire Emblem Warriors. Might skip this one.
Metroid Dread updates: Cool. Maybe I'll get the game at some point and play on casual.
Kirby: Still looks really good. I plan on getting it this year.
Mario Strikers: Only two games in this series until now and it's been left dormant for 15 years. Finally getting a third installment and I will get it.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC: Considering MK8 is so old and Deluxe included all the DLC, this is surprising. I'm not expecting Mario Kart 9 very soon, unless it's cross-gen and releases in 2024 or something.
Mother 1/2: Finally added to NSO so I can replay them one day without having to use my Wii U Virtual Console downloads.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Aw yeah! This was heavily rumored, so it wasn't surprising. I was expecting them to slap us with a Holiday 2022 release date, but we already have September. I hope it makes that date. I love Xenoblade Chronicles.

Alright everyone, prediction time!

Here are mine:
Another Kirby and the Forgotten Land trailer
Another trailer of Advance Wars Reboot Camp confirming release date for April 8th
Splatoon 3 releasing in July, another trailer
Batman Arkham Collection coming to Switch, doesn't have Arkham Knight (or it's cloud based).
Persona 3 Portable and/or Persona 4 Golden ports

New game announcements:
-New Donkey Kong title announced for release this year
-New Fire Emblem game announced for release this year
-Game from Monolith Soft announced for next year
-New Mario Kart game announced for next year

What I got right:

-Kirby trailer, Advance Wars trailer, new fire emblem title for this year

What I got kind of right kind of wrong:

- New game from monolithsoft (coming this year not next), new mario kart (it's not new, it's DLC to 8), Splatoon 3 (it got a trailer but no release date)

What I got wrong:

-New Donkey Kong title, Batman: Arkham collection, Persona 3/4

Overall, I feel like I didn't do too bad with my predictions.

The update to Metroid Dread has me excited too, can't wait for the Boss Rush mode.

Same, as long as I can do it with all the power ups I've gotten in the main game. Why didn't the Direct have any BOTW stuff? -_-

They'll show it at E3 and reveal the title and launch date then.

Added a poll for the Direct. I thought it was really good, and seems many here agree.
