Well Sony is dead once Bethesda and Activision exclusive titles come. As Gamecube and WiiU showed you can't survive on exclusives alone. Would guess PS6 sells under 20m

You contradicted yourself in just two sentences.

Far out, this takes me back to my early days on VGChartz back in the mid 7th gen. It's so much more interesting when the console wars are closely fought.
Switch doing really well considering we know from their recent quarterly report that the semiconductor crisis is biting them too.
Idk why anyone is shocked Sony expects to sell 2 million consoles and then erupt to catch up with PS4 after the quarter. It’s in their financial report.

Erupt? What?

Most likely, they used some of the material reserved for 2022 in 2021 to have a really good debut for the PS5. Which it had, selling slightly more than the PS4s debut numbers. Unfortunately, they were unable to secure additional chips in 2021 (or unwilling to pay exhorbitant prices for chips), so they are stuck with what they have left in chips now.
I wonder if anyone gets fired at Sony for completely botching up the supply chain. Given they pertty much even abandonded production of PS4s to get chips for the PS5 (chip shortages doesn't mean SoCs and ram chips only, the whole shebang around it on motherboards).

Oh the sarcasm.... And so savage!!
Oh boy now imagine COD Xbox exclusive from 2023 on...

The more and more PS5 shortages last, the less innertia it's going to have before all of MS' adquisitions start kicking in.

That is indeed true for me. I finally bought a Series S, after it was impossible to find a X without paying scalpers. So that surely worked out well for MS. If I had a similar interest in the Playstation ecosystem, I wouldn't have had the same possibility. Heck, some people in it for big multiplats might be persuaded to get the available S instead of PS5, as they don't care too much about the brand and the multiplats are available on both.
