Guessed by @S.Peelman

There was once a time when Star Fox 64 was just... It was my thing. It was there to satisfy many things I enjoyed but didn't see much of anywhere, especially in games. I like space. Especially fun space that doesn't take itself too seriously. Like the silly animal characters and their contrasting personalities. On-rails flying shooty-shooty? Love it. I first played this game in 2013 and it was everything I ever wanted and never had. I always liked those arcade plane shooters, but never really had any I could play regularly, and this was exactly that but in 3D and super fun, coupled with it being in space, at a time when the only space thing I was into was Star Wars, and that definitely takes itself way too seriously for my liking.

So as things went, you can see where this is going. A lot of what made Star Fox enticing for me was lessened by the impact of something else that came over my life and hit me like a truck. It had the fun space, it had the colorful cast and talking animals, and it had the spaceship lasers go pew-pew. Back then it was a movie, so Star Fox still held that place when it came to videogames at least, but, not anymore. Hence the big drop (I've said this a few times by now).

Still, there's a lot about this game that is still pretty special to me. I remember playing over 100 hours on the 3DS version to get all the medals on all the modes, an experience that likely burned me out on it forever. I remember beating it for the first time too, and the few times after that where I found the different routes and eventually the true ending, which was really awesome. And I suppose I'll always remember this as the one and only Star Fox game that was truly awesome.

As nobody guessed Graveyard Keeper, now nobody shares the lead on my guesses with Machina with 6 entries, Darashiva and The_Liquid_Laser follow with 5 each:

#22: Draw the map of the dungeon you find in a high school yourself. Guessed by The_Liquid_Laser.

#21: Silver haired maiden. Guessed by The_Liquid_Laser.

#20: Marry to get children you can send into fights to the permadeath. Guessed by The_Liquid_Laser.

#19: The second adventure of Ashley Mizuki Robbins. This time on Wii and again as the outing on the DS the new controls are used in puzzles. Which does for the Wiimote means pointer function, not so much waggling. The studio that made this game made some other great adventures as well, sadly they did go bankrupt just before the resurgence of adventures happened. Guessed by drbunnig.

#18: Ask me about Loom.

18.  The Secret of Monkey Island.

Obviously. Although I tried a bit more obscure hint this time.

More clues:

#23

  • The doors between some levels in this game look delicious, being made out of things like Watermelons and Lemons.
  • It's an origin story of sorts, and features locations from previous entries in the series.
  • Despite the origin nature of the game it's actually the fourth mainline entry in its series, though it isn't numbered.
  • It's a colourful and lively platformer.
  • The final level is a sprint through the land of the living dead.

#21

  • Getting to use the sword is a novelty, and often tricky.
  • Shooting laser beams at your opponent is also fun.
  • It's the second entry in a series that's still going strong to this day.
  • One thing I loved about the game was the little cut scene vignettes you unlock when you complete the single player part of the game with each different character.
  • You also unlock extra playable characters by completing the game with a character that each one is connected to in some way.

#19

  • Back on the PS3 when PSN was just for smaller games, not full downloads of major releases, this was one of the biggest games on the service and also the best.
  • It's a racing game.

#17

  • People gush over this series' gibberish lore to make up for the lack of actual story, but I say fuck the lore - it's all about the hellish combat really. This entry makes it more fluid than ever before. And prettier too, much prettier.
  • It's the third entry in the series.

#23: Everything matching Rayman Legends, except I don't remember the delicious doors. But the fourth entry is actually Rayman Origins, which I never played, so that one must it be.

@The_Liquid_Laser half-guessed #21. Or did he? I'm being a bit mean here, because while he correctly guessed it's an Asterix game, he technically didn't say which one yet. The kicker is however, that to guess the actual game, he doesn't have to think about it any further. Will he do it? Or will someone else steal it? And also, first hint for #19.

#21: One small village of indomitable ones still holds out against the invaders. And life is not easy for those who garrison the fortifies camps. So let's take back the country, province by province.

Hint 2: You do this by distributing the Magic Potion you get across your own provinces, and attack.

Hint 3: Another version of this game, includes the name of the country it's set in, in its name.

#19: Out of sight out of mind says us.

Oh wait, 21 is an Asterix game? How did I miss that? I think I played a PS1 version of that one. It's called something like Asterix: Gallic Wars I think.

It's weird that this is the one game that hasn't yet been guessed, but here's one more hint anyway.

#18

  • One of the main character's has a slightly different name in this game than in most of that character's later appearances.
  • Although it doesn't seem like it, you don't actually meet the game's main villain until fairly late in the game.
  • Every prior encounter with the villain is just a piece of another being masquerading as the villain.
  • That other being crashed on the planet a long time ago and eventually caused an entire race of people to almost go extinct.

Oh that's easy now, I won't steal it though; he did all the work xD

Probably not, but maybe it is, is 21 SoulCalibur 2?

You are correct. "The Gallic Wars" is the name of the other version I talked about. The version I played, the PAL PS1 version, is just simply called Asterix, which I why I said The_Liquid_Laser didn't have to think about it anymore.

I'm mean I know.

Yeah, the version I had was a pirated copy my parents bought when they were on holiday, so even though I live in Finland I still had the non-PAL version of the game.

Nope, but that's the closest guess so far.

So it's a fighting game?

Heh, it's ok.  Not only have I never played an Asterix game, but I don't think I've ever seen one sold in a store here in North America.  I'm sure they exist, but I just haven't seen them.

Well my game doesn't even have a Wikipedia entry so yeah, I don't blame you. I'm pretty sure the PlayStation version at least never made it out of Europe, there's a PC version that maybe did but I don't know. In fact, I don't think many games of this franchise make it out of Europe at all!
