• Getting to use the sword is a novelty, and often tricky.
• Shooting laser beams at your opponent is also fun.
• It's the second entry in a series that's still going strong to this day.
• One thing I loved about the game was the little cut scene vignettes you unlock when you complete the single player part of the game with each different character.
• You also unlock extra playable characters by completing the game with a character that each one is connected to in some way.

You are correct. "The Gallic Wars" is the name of the other version I talked about. The version I played, the PAL PS1 version, is just simply called Asterix, which I why I said The_Liquid_Laser didn't have to think about it anymore.

I'm mean I know.

Heh, it's ok.  Not only have I never played an Asterix game, but I don't think I've ever seen one sold in a store here in North America.  I'm sure they exist, but I just haven't seen them.
