The Triforce gathering quest in Wind Waker is alot of fun because I just always liked to just sail around and explore every single island. I never thought it was tedious or anything like that.

Yep. I always look forward to the Triforce hunt. Sailing around is so much fun.

I'll echo Kakadu's take on Skyward Sword having one of the best combat system in the Zelda series and it's mostly due to the motion controls.

I really love the IDEA of Skyward Sword's motion controls, but despite putting 20+ hours into the game I could never get them to work. I even like the idea of a Linear zelda and a more story driven Zelda, but the motion controls ruined everything for me. And Fi, but I can get over Fi.

That might be a contradiction in just about everything about skyward Sword. I genuinely hate the game despite loving all the ideas they put into it. Linear Zelda? Story-based? carefully planned individual combat encounters? More personality and character and chemistry? I love all of those things in theory, I just personally felt that it didn't work, and 90% of that was the fact that I could never get the motion controls to work. I'm quite confident that the Switch verson will fix all/most of those issues once I'm able to reapproach the game with a fresh perspective.

What exactly was the issue with the motion controls? I'm curious, because I never had any issues. Why didn't it work?

I like Skyward Sword's intro because it does a great job at getting you to know the characters and at making you feel fond of them.

The Water Temple in Ocarina of Time is brilliantly designed.

I don't mind a game being "too long" if I'm enjoying it.

The side quests in Xenoblade are underrated, a lot of them have their own mini-stories that allow you to know more about the NPCs and give you a good amount of lore.

I like Kingdom Heats II's intro, it does a great job at setting up Roxas' struggles.

You know the joycon drift? Imagine that but 10x worse and I needed to recalibrate every 5 minutes. For some reason, no matter what I did or what I used (I tried it with a WiiMotion+ attachment and a wiimote with the enhancement built in), it was constantly drifting, none of the puzzles worked, and it seemed like more fuss than it was worth.

There's one puzzle early on where you gotta trick three eyes to get dizzy at the same time by pointing your sword out and going in circles. I figured out the trick on the practice eyes no problem, but when it came time to actually do it, I couldn't get it to work for like half an hour. I knew what I had to do, I watched Youtube Walkthroughs, I consulted FAQs...but no matter what I did, it didn't seem to work for the better part of an hour...until it just...worked! I didn't do anything different, but it just randomly decided it worked!

I want to like Skyward sword (Despite my reputation on here I don't actually like hating things - hence why I made this thread), but man it pissed me off something fierce.

I actually really like the concept of paid DLCs

I prefer to pay less for a game and then keep paying for it only if I actually like it

One example of DLC done really well is Hollow Knight, the additional content integrates perfectly in the main game. Hope devs to learn how to make DLCs feels more organic and less side quests/stories

I agree, when the DLCs are priced right.  Good examples are TW3 and Mario Kart 8 (on Wii U).  There was appropriate value in those.  What I don't like it when there's (using hours of enjoyment only because it is easy to quantify) 75 hours of good content in the base game for $60, then a 6-8 hour DLC costs $20.  But, TW3 had huge pieces of content in those DLCs for something like $20 each, and Kart had good amounts of content for small price tags (I feel like it was $15 total for both, maybe $20.)

I like the Games as a Service model. Keep giving me worthwhile content, and I'll keep paying you.

You know, for as much as I personally won't participate in this model and avoid GaaS experiences with all my being, I actually DO love that they exist because I feel it adds more variety and diversity to our medium. It's the same reason that, while I won't buy Microtransactions or sports games or F2P stuff, I love that they all exist. I genuinely do believe having more options is a GOOD thing. I don't mind if Star Wars Battlefront is a shitty Loot Box casino masquerading as a game...because I am so overwhelmed with other options I can avoid it and its ilk and still never catch up on my backlog.

For some people, that's what they like. You're a prime example. It's not for me, but hot damn I love that it exists as long as it doesn't take away from the things I like, which it does not! People like to act like it is, but it's not.

Like Brie Larson said, we're not converting your seats at our table, we're adding more seats to the table so that more people can participate. Nobody's mising out on anything, there are just more options for more people to enjoy!
