So apparently Netflix had some sort of 'Fan Event' today. My feed blew up with new reveals. Ozark S4, Stranger Things S4, Cobra Kai S4, Extraction 2, The Sandman, Witcher S2, and more. I'm pumped. The rest of the year looks stacked both online and in theaters and lots to look forward to next year, of course.

No Time to Die coming out next week too, which I'm looking forward to seeing.

Motherless Brooklyn: Good hardboiled throwback with a unique twist and a hell of a cast. Norton gives a good performance as usual with an endearing twist on the daring detective and the whole cast and crew put in solid work.

Squid Game: Good battle royale that kept me eager for the next episode. Lost a bit of steam as it went along, but I definitely enjoyed it.

Watched the Paddington movies this past week. Was kinda keeping it to myself for some reason, but anyways. The first one was great, the second one was just... completely mindblowing. It's unbelievable how incredible that movie is.

I'm having a rough time processing it, reminds me of something that happened with a certain other movie some three and a half years ago. It's certainly up there as one of my favorites.

Heard great things about those movies, which surprised me because they looked like cash grabs.

Lucifer Season 6

Oof, they weren't shy about tugging on the heart strings to close off the series. Right in the feels. This is one of those shows that, as entertainingly trashy as it is, it somehow made me care anyway, and like any good show, finally saying goodbye to its characters after several years was a bittersweet thing. I wasn't the biggest fan of the final season's overarching plot, but at least it gave each of the core characters a poignant sendoff. Not ashamed to say I shed a tear. I will miss this one.

Archer Season 11

After several "spinoff" seasons it was refreshing to see the show return to its roots. It has grown a little long in the tooth, but that's inevitable by the time any show reaches an 11th season, and to its credit it's still good fun.

Watching Archer season 11 too.

Finished American Horror Story - Red Tide Six episodes I think it was. It was decent but I think Hotel was still my favorite season of that show. Watched the first episode of American Horror Stories last night (didn't at first realize it was a spin off. It was so so. Looks like they may use this one to tell shorter 1 to 2 episode stories.

Excited to be watching What We Do in the Shadows again. Really like this silly series.

Watched the season opener of The Rookie and it just makes me mad that Fox screwed up Firefly like they did. I enjoyed Castle but as a Nathan Fillion fan FireFly was where it was at with that wonderful ensemble.

I watched Venom: Let There Be Carnage with my brother yesterday. We enjoyed watching it a lot. I also enjoyed the mid-credits scene in it. I won't say what was in it, though.

The Many Saints of Newark: All the marketing portraying this movie as a young Tony Soprano story was a bit of a bait and switch. A lot of the film resembled other crime tales like The Godfather, Goodfellas, and American Gangster than it did The Sopranos. Still a decent film, but a bit disappointing.

War of the Worlds, Season 2

Far out do I have mixed feelings on this series! As a massive fan of the source material, I was initially very disappointed by how little it has in common with the book it takes its title from. Honestly, it probably should've used a different name. Some of its ideas are brilliant, but a lot of the time I found that the ways in which it diverges made it less interesting.

All that being said, the way it ultimately ties together in the last two episodes of season 2 was genuinely cool, and although the loss of a particular character was a shame, I was impressed by the show's boldness in going where it does.

Now that I hear a third season is in the work's, I'm intrigued to see where it all goes from here.

Finished Squid Game, shit was so good.

Maid: One of the best things I've seen all year. A wonderfully directed story of abuse, poverty, dependence, and how difficult it can be to break out of those vicious cycles. Definitely give it a shot if the teaser piques your interest.

007 No Time to Die: Middle of the road for Craig's Bond films behind Casino Royale and Skyfall, but still a decent sendoff for him. The new additions to the cast were all enjoyable, particularly Remi as the villain. Au revoir, Daniel. Thanks for the thrills.
