Momotaro keeps getting more powerful and powerful. Wtf is up this game? Is it a meme in Japan at this point?
Some takeaways.
Playstation hardware bad sign: YTD PS4 + YTD PS5 = 29.124 + 28.118 = 57.242 < 71.928 = last YTD PS4
Playstation hardware good sign: weekly PS5 = 7.328 > 6.325 = last year weekly PS4
Switch: YTD this year is already 150K up against last year. I thought Japan would peak first for Switch, because it is closer to saturation, but Switch is still growing there. That will continue at least until MonHun this year (and about the time is AC last year).
Xbox Series S can break 100 units YTD next week.
While everything is dropping coming out of the holidays, Momotaro is somehow still rising.
Pokemon is close to 4M.
EDIT:
I overlooked something... YTD 3DS = 1.811 >>> 403 = YTD Xbox Series X+S

He was correct - it's just a long climb, not a long fall...
At this rate, Switch will be at almost 1M for the year at the end of January already, which is absolutely bonkers.
Also Momotaro doesn't want to stop anytime soon. Still laughing about the predictions that the game will not get past 1M total due to first week sales.
PS5, on the other hand... I really hope it's just supply issues and not low demand, because with those sales numbers it's getting seriously trashed by the Wii U and the Vita in Japan of all things.

Okay so, here is the situation:
- the PS4 is dead for over a year now
- the 3DS is dead for ages
- the PS5 still struggles to become relevant
- the Xbox Series is already dead on arrival
I guess the Switch is basically the console market in Japan for the 3-4 years to come.
Question: I calculate that MonHun Rise will hit week 13, is that right? I wonder how it will stack up in Switch hardware sales against last years release of AC in week 12.
EDIT: And BTW, when is golden week this year?

Yeah poor Rick was holding the chart upside down.
Signature goes here!
Switch is having a good start to the year
PS5 is what interests me as it has just released (week 10), it's sad to see it bomb this hard this early
