Best selling family this month (units)?

Nintendo family 69 77.53%

Playstation family 19 21.35%

XBOX family 1 1.12%

Total:89

I had a feeling the holidays would be a bit lower than what some were expecting. Even then that’s still a pretty good number

Switch kept its winning streak going, so that should be enough consolation for falling short of expectations after an amazing October. Seems like the big shipments that were underway during September were entirely sold through by retailers in October with no concern to hold on to any stock for November due to the expectation that Nintendo's shipments will scale accordingly for the two biggest months of the year. Unfortunately, Nintendo had no stockpile of this magnitude.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV (360+PS3) would outsell SSBB. I was wrong.

Switch was top console selling 1.35 million.

Terrible numbers. COVID really messed up BF. Oh, and no Pokemon.

Looks like PS5/XBX were lower than I expected.

Did any state actually take measures against retail shopping?

Neither my state nor none of the bordering states really did anything against retail shopping.

Some retailers put restrictions themselves, like Walmart only selling PS5 and Xbox online.

Retailers did. They discouraged large crowds and heavily promoted online shopping.

Just google black friday 2020 crowds and you'll find plenty of articles.

Yea sales for all 3 consoles were extremely disappointing. Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft should've prioritized stocking for the holiday season more than anything but failed to deliver.

Wow! Switch beating out the new boys!

Pocky Lover Boy!

1.3m is decent all things considered. The stock for the OG model was just not there this year like it'd been in previous years.

December will probably be relatively flat as well, stock isn't too abundant still.

This is useless as it will ultimately come down to how many units they all managed to manufacture, but what the heck, here we go:

[NSW] 1900K
[PS5] 1300K
[XBS] 1100K

Oh boy, lol

Well, I guess I still have the chance to get the other two right.

Switch is down YoY? I can't say I expected that.

I mean 1.35 million is still a great number and the second highest November for Switch right? No new Pokémon game to drive sales this year either, so the fact that it was flat is still pretty remarkable. As has already been said, stock issues were once again prevalent. You could say this is partly down to Nintendo for having their forecast too low to begin with, then the fact that there were shortages in September and they sold double that amount in October. Clearly, they've just had no chance to stockpile.
