For me it had a "system seller" called Xbox All Access.

1) Wii U was a disaster.
2) Series S/X are relying on a great library of Xbox One titles, many of which are better on Series S/X. But Switch is doing a good job selling Wii U games.
3) Some notable exclusive launch content would have been great with Series S/X. But Phil is correct, its been a successful launch relying on the features of the console, a strong library of BC content and more technically advanced games will come.

Resogun was and still is amazing. Sorry for the DP mods. |
Resogun is a good game, iv played it, enjoyed it however its not a system seller. If anything it was a nice bonus game for those who already purchased the PS4 at launch. I cannot see anybody spending $500+ just to play Resogun.

Helped sell me on the PS4. I didn't spend $500.
Still can't deny though, it would have been more stellar had halo launched. Would have brought even more hype to the launch, and even more so if it was a killer game.

Switch isn't actually backwards compatible, neither was the PS4. Those consoles did well from start to finish due to a good launch of games and consistent releases throughout.
Imagine if Halo launched with the Series X and it was considered the best in it's series like BoTW is considered. The sales remain to be seen, but I think it would be automatic success.

Wasnt TLOU said game tho? The PS4 version literally came out less than 2 months after the PS3 one.

But it apparently had the best opening for Xbox ever.

Came here to say exactly that
Well hes not wrong. The Series X/S is currently outpacing other Xboxes. But to maintain this momentum they will need a consistent supply of first party games.
