Yeah I will as soon as I can. The PS4 was the first console I pre-ordered and got day 1 and it was well worth it. Stuck with it for almost 7 years but it is time to move on!

Nope. It is just that we will have an event from Sony, and some expect they to reveal price and/or release date, so with that more stores would open for pre-order. But there are already some places with pre-order available.

That's nice, depending on where you live i could ship my old games to you.(those that i have left) And that will only cost you the shipping. |
If you are willing to ship to Brazil I would gladly receive your old games.

There is a video on youtube of a guy that somehow was able to hack a PS4 and he was running Bloodborne at 720p at 60fps on a ps4 with eventual drops to 45-50. And it looks so much better, I just dont get why developers do not give us the option of doing it with the games. SO yeah it's definitely possible to unlock the framerate if they want. |
No it don't, you sacrifice image quality (even if in the form of pixel density) for a variable framerate. You could argue if you want that it would play better, but not that it will look better.
And one of the reasons devs don't give you the option is because it doesn't look better.

I don't think it is that clear. Will there be improvements? Which ones? Will it run with the physical disc or it we will have to download the game as xbox does? 4000 titles is nice but probably most are indies. Will it run all other games? Will we have developers patches? How often? I will just believe when I actually see it. Sony does not seem to be as engaged with BC as microsoft, which is understandable because that makes remasters less appealing. When I actually see ps4 games running on ps5 and the improvements then I will have a proper idea of how it will work. |
It is clear, just watch the show and read the clarification from Sony. There will be improvement. Mostly framerate and pixel density, will it be the same and available on every game? Nope. As you were explained in this thread, some games have a lock in the code to run at capped framerate for example, so those would need a patch no doubt.
4000 is an irrelevant number, because the post from Sony said majority of the games would work fine on BC and with improvements.
You haven't seem XSX running anything on BC yet, and if you are adamant on seeing to believing so stop making the same question since the console haven't released and you won't be able to see it running until then.

Well it may not look better for you but FOR ME it definitely does look better, it is much more appealing to play a game on 60fps and I would choose 60fps over 4k or ray tracing anyday.
And for XSX I can at least have an idea on how it will work and bebsure there will be developers patches as microsoft already mentioning it.
And if it bother you that I touched the subject again you can just ignore my posts. It seems other people were interested in discussing it. Or create some kind of rule that does not allow to ask the same question if it was already "answered" in another thread. By the way it was a rethoric question, I know we dont know yet how it will work and this is my initial statement was "I will wait and see their plans for BC".
Yeah if the bots and scalpers don't get them first

He hacked a game that was hard coded to run at 30fps to run at 60fps. So you're looking at a patch to be required to get that running at that frame rate on PS5. It's not going to get a higher frame rate because the games coding doesn't allow it. This is what I have been saying. If a game is capable of higher frame rates and resolution then those will improve. But if the game is locked at a specific specs, then the improvements will be far less pronounced. |
And if a hacker can lift the restriction, the developers can't for new hardware?

You seem to have a funny definition of LOOKING better.
You are not interested in discussing them, you said you only believe when you see it running, that is basically putting 0 margin for discussion. Because there is no need to wait for the plans, they already said what they are.

They can, but that was twintail explaining why the game wouldn't automatically be 4k60fps if the code somewhat capped to 1080 or 30fps. If there is a hard code preventing it, then it would need a patch even if very small.

Yesvthat I agree with you 100%. In theory a consoke cabt change a game programming to run at higher resolution or framerate if it is locked. You would need a patch for it. And this is one of the reasons I would like games to give us more options on how to run them.
I believe what we will see is of course a very good compatibility on PS5, improving a lot stability and loading times, but Im not expecting sony to engage with developers to provide other options not available at the moment.
So if a game is 1080p 30fps on ps4 and 1440p 30fps on ps4pro, the best thing we will get is the same resolution, same framerate, just much more stable. Of course I could be wrong though. I hope so.
No, just as with every other console ever, there is absolutely no reason to pre-order the PS5. There won't be enough great games to justify that, and I see no reason why I can't just wait a while for the price to drop and getting the console then.
