I would love to join in the conversation, but literally none of my local stores have any inventory on Ghost. None. Target, Walmart, Best Buy, GameStop, mom and pop shops, nobody has any.

Oh man, stealth is an absolute joke. I've been playing as a Samurai that just walks up and challenges everybody. I've had archers in perches utterly clueless to the outright brawl happening below them. Not but 15 feet below them their comrades are screaming and getting slaughtered. Meanwhile I can walk or climb right up behind these guys without even crouching, and they still have no idea I'm there. I'm always honorably giving them a good thwack over the head with the blunt end of my sword so that I don't accidentally stealth kill them.

The artstyle is 10/10, and I'm really enjoying the combat. Gotta love it when I perfect parry and enemies start shitting themselves. They always scramble backwards in fear, on all fours, which making killing them a breeze. The enemies have so many different attack patterns that it's a lot harder to get a perfect parry in this game, than it is in Sekiro.

One gripe I do have so far is that in order to explore properly I need the traveler's outfit. But sometimes I forget to equip my actual Samurai armor before a fight.

I like the challenge of traveler's outfit + medium difficulty. I think it would be too easy if I took things too seriously.

I'm not actually watching the whole thing, but clicking through to get to the major story beats. I care enough to see what happens to the charakters and how things shake out. But I would never pay mony for this.

Same reason I watched season 2, 3 and will watch season 4 of Attack on Titan. I want to see what happens enough to keep going, but I don't really enjoy it and I would never buy the blurays for it.

I guess that is a bit weird.

Are you one of those masochists on VGC? People that say they bought a console and hate all the games on it, or that burn 20h of their life on something they are hating but think 60USD is just to much money? Well watching 4 seasons of an Anime that you are not liking is even more strange.

I actually could barely stomach it. Played like 40h and didn't like, when the save file was lost I had no interest in starting over.

Wow, I did not realise that you were also one of those masochists in VGC. Burning 40 h of your life on a game you did not like. I think we should make a dedicated masochists thread :)

Mentioning them falling back in fear, remember in the gameplay trailers when Jin walked up to some mongols and they scrambled away without attacking, is it true you have to do the stealth to have the enemies cower like that, do you know? I've only done it for the main tales that force it and it doesn't feel good, feels like the ending of the last of us where you're stripped of choice but I want them to drop in fear at me, how much of it did ya do before they started fearing you?

That's one more pro for the game though, it makes you want to be a Samurai and not a ninja.

It's a perk of the deflection tree. The perk is that 20% of the time, when you get a perfect deflection, one random enemy will shit their pants in fear of you. It's great. I haven't stealth killed more than three people in this game.

I'm gonna play Horizon my next session to compare and contrast, These photos in my gallery are telling me it looks better but I wouldn't be this blown away if it was better three years ago and TLOU2 took nothing away from this game, in fact it makes me appreciate it more cause the art trumps the tech and it doesn't rely on filters like the film grain.

Yeah art trumps tech every time. The list of games that I would give 10/10 graphics to this generation is very small. I don't recall all of them, but Into the Breach, Hollow Knight, Horizon, and GoT are all on that list. Horizon gets it for the robot dinosaurs, not for the technical aspects. And the other two games are Indies! :P

I noticed a recurring theme of western journalists bringing up historically inaccurate as a negative while the japanese seemingly are praising it for the depiction of that era and referrences to the old movies.
Historically inaccurate is a strange negative when it is done with respect.

Even funnier is that for games that are on the west and those reviewers know the history better they don't see these same glaring imprecisions. Or in some cases they want it to be imprecise so it can be more inclusive, like having black people in position of power on middle-age bavaria.

I'm surprised they didn't condemn this game for not having woman daimyos or black samurais.

The wind mechanic is too over the top though, I don't wanna see this shit obscure the lovely scenery if I happen to be perpendicular to the objective.

In photomode you can control the power of the wind.

So many people said it was the best game ever so I tried my best to like it and all, but couldn't. It was at most bearable.

I'll order it on Amazon. GT Sport is having 2 weeks of my favorite races and I had not finished Tlou2 yet, no rush.

The box looks nice, but is there a huge day 1 patch? It's $10 extra for the physical edition. If it's no good with a day 1 patch, then might as well get digital. I assume it's just the standard flimsy empty box (no manual etc) Box art is very nice though.

The raw fidelity of the game's graphics is decent, but the art direction is superb.

Someone please show me a game that does grass, leaves, and other foliage at this density level, in an open world, on horseback, and runs as well as this. Please.

Patch 1.04 (day one) is 5Gb

Thanks. "General bug fixes and improvements". I might just go for the digital edition, less hassle with this corona business.
