The good and the bad.

Dang Coronavirus is disrupting everything in east and southeast Asia it feels like.  At least the team isn't sick from what we have heard.

On the bright side, glad they've listened on the cartridge side of things!  Hopefully we get a new release date not too long from now.

Mixed feeling about this news. The physical release alone would have been enough to make me accepting of this delay TBH.

Even if that were not the case however, you cannot be mad at this delay. Human safety comes first. A virus outbreak is never a joke.

So the same is around 38 gigs on PS4/XB.
So I wonder how big the download will be for the switch.

What's the most amount of space the switch has without adding extra storage? Around 24 or so?

Yeah, right around there. But, a 128 GB card is about 12 bucks. It's crazy to imagine memory being an issue at this point. I have a 512 GB and it was 60 dollars.

NAND isn't ROM. ROM is what the Switch carts use, it's more durable and shouldn't suffer from bit flip and loss of data... Thus not directly comparable.

Games prices are dictated by demand and how new it is and goes down from there. You complaining about being charged what....less then $5 for a cartridge you aren’t getting? That’s not how game pricing works

To be fair... Games on Nintendo platforms tend to hold value for allot longer than Xbox, PC or Playstation, regardless of supply/demand.
I.E. Breath of the Wild on Switch is still $90 AUD, the price of a new release... $80 AUD for a Pre-Owned copy... And still $70 AUD on WiiU for a Pre-Owned copy. Digital Copies aren't any cheaper either, which has unlimited supply.

I don't see The Outer Worlds being lower in price if it released as a digital-only variant, I don't see it dropping in price quickly either.

It is, what it is, sadly.

The virus has been sensationalized heavily by the media though...

Awesome that they're listening to the fans and providing a proper physical release, and that according to their followup tweet the team are healthy and well, their office has just been temporarily closed. Hope the delay's not too long; if it was set to come out digitally in less than a month then the game itself should be just about done, and the extra time should mostly just be ordering, manufacturing, and shipping the game cards.

About what I expected graphically, given the precedent for demanding PS4/Xbone games ported to Switch. I'm satisfied with these visuals.

Well, now you can count on my purchase.

Looking at the specs, this is actually one of the most demanding games yet ported to Switch.

Like Witcher 3, it's 30fps on PS4/Xbone, but it has a dynamic res and can drop to 720p even on PS4. Getting it to run acceptably on Switch can't have been an easy job for Virtuos.

It may well be,then again I played it on the PS4Pro and it came across as needing more polish than being a demanding game, it's only my take on the game I found overall the game felt like I was seeing a studio using a template that had past it's used by date and its performance seemed to match that behind the times feel, but that may well be exacerbated by other factors ,still it would have been much better if The Outer Worlds great characterisation and overall script had been better served.

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

Depends in what way you mean, but that's another topic.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.
