Cadence of Hyrule? |
Damn it, correct. These hints are not hard misleading enough.

Don't be too hard on yourself. Maybe your biggest flaw is that you have incredibly good taste in games?
curl-6 bet me that PS5 + X|S sales would reach 56m before year end 2023 and he was right.
My Bet With curl-6
My Threads:

How Much Will MH Rise sell?
My Bet With Metallox

Pinball Dreams is the reason I liked Pinball simulations in the first place. Sadly it needed long to find another Pinball game I liked as much in Zen Pinball. For #36 a bit of a longshot, but maybe Valkyria Chronicles 4 then? |
If that was a longshot, it was one taken with the skill of Kai with the Accuracy Boost order. Good job.
There's an online PinMAME out there. Someone actually re-created Baby Pac-Man (including both the video game and pinball parts) using it.
Oh, and I remember the arcade version of Block Out. It was a better game than Alexei Pajitnov's Welltris, which wasn't a true 3-D take on Tetris.

Nope, it’s one in the genre where you shoot things.
More hints
36. A) One who knows nothing, understands nothing. Kingdom hearts, guessed by Scoobes
B) Pretty simple and clean, compared to the sequels.
35. The age of exploration has dawned upon the world.
34. "Off my chair, jester. The king sits there." Final Fantasy XV, guessed by Scoobes

I was a big fan of Insomniac Games on the PS1, having played Disruptor and the first three Spyro games, so I was eagerly awaiting what they'd do with the PS2. When I first saw the trailer, I thought it looked like a decent Jak and Daxter rip off but when the name of the developer appeared I was shocked. So shocked that I took to the internet and wrote Insomniac an impassioned email, asking them why they left Spyro to die with a new studio and turned their attention to copying Jak and Daxter. I wish I still had the reply, but I lost my SaviourofAvalar email address over a decade ago (yep, I was a big fan). However, the reply set my mind at ease, they explained that Spyro was out of their hands due to publishers, but they were confident that the new game was worth moving on for, they also reminded me that Spyro also began as an imitation of Mario 64, but evolved into it's own thing, the same would be true of Ratchet.
So I gave them the benefit of the doubt, since they were 4/4 for good games so far and boy were they right. As soon as I began playing R&C in late 2002, I knew this was pure Insomniac gold. The mix of platforming and 3rd person shooting with inventive weapons is unique, creative and fun. I enjoy the humour and the visual design is appealing and detailed, with loads of animations for Ratchet depending on what weapon or tool he is using. There is also a New Game+ that offers upgrades to new weapons and there are many secrets to discover, including the return of Insomniac’s precursor to Trophies, Skill Points. My only real gripe is that after 9 replays, a bug wipes all progress and starts over fresh. Yes, I’ve played it many more than 10 times over the years and still enjoy it.

Mario 64.
Or did I fall in a trap?
OK, catch up time!
50: Metal Gear Solid 4
A fantastic end to Solid Snake's story. Brought together all the elements that made Metal Gear such a fantastic series for the PS3.
49: Age of Mythology
Adapting classic Age of Empires RTS style gaming and combining it with ancient mythology was an inspired decision. They also made some interesting strategic calls with the need to find settlements before you could build a second town center and actually had a good story in the campaigns to boot.
48: Neverwinter Nights
The first foray into 3D for Bioware's classic RPGs had a fantastic campaign, some great user made mods which meant some great single and multiplayer classic D&D gaming.
47: Final Fantasy X
Whilst SE's first Final Fantasy with voice acting was... er... interesting, it was a technical marvel with some great characters and a fantastic setting to boot.
46: Portal
A superbly original idea that I played through in one sitting before watching a friend do the same. Great humour and some mind-bending level design to boot.
45: Starcraft
The classic RTS... do I really need to say more?
44: Dragon Age: Inquisition
A great blend of modern and old school tactical gameplay with a good story and interesting characters. A few too many annoying side quests bring the score down but still a good game for any RPG fan.
Hints for the next batch incoming in next post...
Hints:
43: Buzz Lightyear and the Queen of England
42: A very old game so I doubt many will know it. Title consists of 2 words: An object that explodes and a Tennessee whisky.
41: A sequel to a late 90s classic. One of the main characters shares the same first name as the actress that played Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Another shares the same first name as a 2-time Scottish Formula 1 world champion from the 60s.
40: This game won a BAFTA... although it's spelling is a bit unfortunate for such an award.
39: The latest version of a game that features someone that did voices for two of the CARS films.
38: Sequel to 40!
