I guess it's time for another set of hints.

#29: A prequel to a quite unique open world game series. You might end up helping make a music video for a famous artist right after beating one of your former bosses to a pulp.

#28: A gorgeous 2D metroidvania heavily inspired by a certain series famous for its intricate world design and lore.

#27: This game starts a new subseries within this franchise. Takes place after the events of another trilogy in the series, and during two other games which have so far not been released in the west. The main characters are members of a very special class in a military academy.

#26: A collaboration between a game developer and a famous animation studio.

#25: Your only guidance is a mountain on the horizon.

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West
(Change YoY:-2)

This is the game that made me a fan of Ninja Theory as a developer, and much of that was because of how good this game's storytelling and characters were. The gameplay is fun, but it takes a backseat to the developing relationship between Enslaved's two main characters - Monkey and Trip. They are still among my favourite video game characters ever, and much of that comes down to the performances of the actors playing the two characters: Andy Serkis and Lindsey Shaw.

The only real downside for the game is its ending, not because I didn't like it, but because it leaves the story on a cliffhanger that will most likely never be resolved as the game didn't sell enough to satisfy Namco Bandai - the publisher. It's a shame as very few other developers even today treat stories with as much care and attention as Ninja Theory, and Enslaved is still their best written game, at least of the ones I've played so far.

26.  Kingdom Hearts?

No, this is a Japanese animation studio.

Alright, I've finalized my list. Hope to make the guessing easy so I can post it lol.

50: The entire cast of a storied series arrives again in marvelous tune.
49. NANOMACHINES
48. CLONEOFF (also, corporations are destroying the planet)
47. Game is beautiful and named from an infamous sword.
46. One of the most replayable games where you shoot things with your ship and crew.
45. Strategy, rock, paper, scissors, and a blazing sword.

#47: Xenoblade Chronicles?

#45: Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade (just called Fire Emblem in the first western releases)?

47 is incorrect. You're not far off though.

45 is the Fire Emblem on the GBA!

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,

#26 is probably Ni No Kuni.

And I didn't get it with the hint (Monky and Trip) but now as I see it is about Journey to the West, Trip means Tripitaka. Interesting that Tripitaka is nowadays sometimes represented by a women, this way a romantic story can be build between her and Monkey. And yeah, another interpretation of this classic novel. If you believe it or not, Dragonball is based on the same book.

Isn't this the GBA title? I thought so: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire_Emblem_(video_game)

Blazing Blade is the japanese subtitle, this was dropped in the West as it is the first Fire Emblem localized.

You are correct. I left the blazing sword in there to make it easy to pick which FE in the series I was choosing.

Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast

  • Windows PC
  • 2002
  • First Person Shooter
  • Raven Software/LucasArts

A first-person shooter game often disguised as a third-person adventure game. Or, that's what I figure anyone would do in 'Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast', because what in the world is more awesome than fighting stormtroopers and Dark Jedi with your trusty Lightsaber. Not much, is the answer.

The game is the follow-up to the first, and also awesome, 'Jedi Knight', which in turn was the sequel to the old, influential first-person shooter game, 'Dark Forces'. It revolves around Kyle Katarn, a popular Star Wars Expanded Universe character who's sadly been removed from canon, and his quest to seek revenge on a pair of Dark Jedi supposedly responsible for killing his partner Jan in front of him during the early stages of the game, until he uncovers a deeper plot.

The game is still has the most satisfying experience of Lightsaber combat in any game. I have played through it all the way several times, and I used to save the game at every encounter with the "Reborn" Dark Jedi and the "Shadow Troopers" because of how awesome those fights were. I often went back to fight the best ones over and over. In fact, I feel like doing just that right now!

Correct on 26. And yeah, I did know that Dragonball is partly based on the novel. I probably learned about that when I was reading about Sun Wukong years back. A lot of different stuff inspired by Journey to the West.

According to GameRankings it's the best game of all time.

48. Is this FF7? If not I might still start describing the game this way.

47. Heavenly Sword?
