#45 Sin & Punishment - Star Successor - Wii

An incredible, fast paced, challenging and exhilarating on rail shooters developed by Treasure and the sequel to the N64 classic title, filled with amazing bosses and a storyline that I still don't fully get, a Treasure game really.

I don't have much to say about it, is just a really engaging game and if you ever wanted to play Kid Icarus Uprising's on rail sections with a Wiimote, this is your game.

- Disney's rip-off of Madagascar
- You play as a lion in most levels, and in some as a squirrel
- It's a GBA game

#47
- Another Disney game, but this one is a racing game
- THQ's last Disney game
- It's a DS game (but also got released on other consoles)

#46
- Best selling game of Nintendo's strongest character
- Pink

#45
- First game from a spin-off series that almost got as many games as the main series
- The title is also the title of a Pokémon game

#44
- To say that this game is/was popular, is quite an understatement
- Perhaps the most well known game of all time

#46 I think it's a Kirby game but I have no idea which one sold the most, I'll guess Kirby's Adventure

#44 Tetris?

#43 Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games?

#46 Nah, Kirby's Adventure did not sell that much.

#44 Well, I guess you could consider Tetris to be more popular, but it's not the right answer.

#43 Correct!

#45: The name of the game references some kind of narrow street that has nothing to do with the game itself as far as I'm aware.

#45 Alleyway?

Correct!

Just like you, I can't see any way that title is linked to a Breakout type game.

(Thanks for guessing these two, now I can finally further complete my list in the official thread )

#44 No, Minecraft has sold more, but this game is definitely more iconic.

#43 Nope (but Landale_Star already guessed it)

#47 Ys VIII:Lacrimosa of Dana
guessed by Darashiva
platform Switch
release year 2015
developer/publisher Nihon Falcom/NIS America
genre action RPG
links Wikipedia

And another game from a series I tried for the first time on Switch. Ys VIII combines real time battles with the exploration of this vast island, finding the passengers from the shipwreck, building a village for the outcasts and defending it against attacks from wild beasts. The story is set in the universe of the Ys series, but brings the characters to an island which no one ever left. It is filled with monsters of all sorts, including Primordials which were believed to be extinct. Exploring the island and reaching the regions you saw before from afar is very satisfying. The game mixes in many sidesteps to keep the gaming fresh, including a murder mystery. A very enjoyable game.

This old 'Breakout'-clone is among the first handheld-games I ever played. When I first got a GameBoy, it came with the famous 'Tetris' packed in, but I was also given a couple of other games simultaneously as this was still an era when handheld-games were cheap. 'Alleyway' was one of them.

The concept should be familiar to anyone who knows what a videogame is. These types of games were basically single-player 'Pong', and it's extremely addicting. As a child I always imagined Mario to be steering the paddle, probably because Mario is featured on the box-art. In-game though, there's no real reference to the character, besides his NES-likeness being in a bonus-level as a target.

Afterwards I have played many other games of the genre, as well as the original 'Breakout' on the Atari 2600, and some of the newer ones came with all kinds of quirks, but none would keep me hooked for as long as this simple GameBoy game. I guess there's something memorable about something that's the first of something you ever played.

Is it not just Super Mario Bros.?
