Yea I'm sure that has to be a misquote on your part, the game by itself in Japan is ~ 3 million and the game charted higher for the PS4 everywhere else.

Wow Monster Hunter sold 50% digital in Japan, didn't know, think they would have reported that if that happened.
Everyone really needs to stop quoting sales randomly.

And they said that a Monster Hunter game which is not on a Nintendo console wouldn't sell. xD
It was a great move from Capcom to bring this game back to Playstation! Amazing sales!
And to think people doubted it because it was on consoles and they slightly changed formula.
Feels fucking good to see this, im sure when everything is said and done the PS4 version alone will likely have crossed 10 million.

PS4 probably makes up 7 million of those sales.

I simply never understood why Japanese Devs go exclusive with their games instead of multiplate. Why is persona not on Nintendo? It would sell so much more on there. Same goes for yo Kai watch. Why didn't they release it on PS?. And there are a lot more.
There is a strong audience of JRPGs on Nintendo, PS and even PC. Even Xbox has a good JRPG fanbase. They should release on all these platforms instead of just going exclusive with one. The big JRPGs who went multiplate won big due to this like FF15 and now Monster Hunter.
Capcom would be insane to ever ditch the PS/Xbox/PC userbase for future monster hunter games, even if it's a spin off they want to bring to switch that's less ambitious so switch can handle it, it should be released on other platforms.

Uhhh. It's at like 3 million on PS4 in Japan alone. Do you really think X1 MHW outsold the PS4 version it 3:1 in the west? A

What? You think the Xbox version outsold the PS version? Western multiplate games sell better on PlayStation than Xbox, and this is a Japanese games with a much bigger fanbase on PS. Considering we know MHW sold 2~ million in Japan on PS, what you're suggesting is that the Xbox version outsold the PS version by over double the amount in the west (4.3 Vs 2), which is preposterous.

It sold 3 million in Japan.
