i mean we still don't really know how many nintendo really sold, i thought it was around at 12.5 to 12.6,, and i was always thought they would ship 14.5 million shipped, till i started seeing shortages in japan , aside from that if the nintendo  10 million report as of december 10 is really sold through WW with out excluding any regions since it doesn't state that, along the npd data, there is no way they sold  over 3 million.

Sounds like a bunch of deflection so you dont have to admit you were wrong.

so you know for a fact nintendo sold over 13 million as of december 31? i will happily admit i was wrong with facts involved, and not just speculation.

Yes, because they said so and because their shpment data supports it unless you believe it had ~2.5 million on shelves or in transit.

The 13 million sold through number is announced as of now, everybody is in agreement with that, i believe 2.1 million on shelves/in transit is the norm, especially with a system that had stock problems the whole year, if they got there stuff together its not some crazy numbers, ps4 had 4 million on shelves at one point, but usually around 2 million.

Switch ahead of PS4 in the year's first week... is this a sign of things to come?

PS4 shipped vs sold difference was 1.4 million at the end of its first holiday (18.5m vs 19.9m)

PS4 only had the 4 million or so at one point, the end of 2016 when they overshipped it.

We know it was overshipped because their forcast for this fiscal year is lower than last year despite selling 3.5m more this year.

second year it was around 1.8 million. thats with 3-4 days excluded so probably around 2 million. first year it 1.5.  all we have to do is look at the chart, in europe it says 3.5 million sold through according to there chart, yet they shipped 5.2 million there, so it's something hard to figure out, maybe there killing it in asia, who knows.

Well I just meant it as Switch outselling the PS4 this year, but whatever.

I also wasn't quite serious. Personally I'm a bit unsure, I think PS4 is still going to take this year but it'll be closer.

Switch and PS4 killin it

They shipped 5.2 million in OTHER, not Europe.

Other includes Europe, Australia, Africa & Asia (excluding Japan).

Europe is ~3.5 million

We dont have any concrete numbers for the other 3 continents but we know S. Korea alone did 110k in 1 month so it not out the question that they did close to 1 million combined.

Japan sold ~3.35m (average of Media Create & Famitsu)

Japan shipped ~3.7m

Americas sold ~5.5m (USA 4.88m NPD, Can+LatAm ~600k)

Americas shipped ~5.9m

Other sold ~4.5m (Europe ~3.5m, Au/Af/As ~1m)

Other shipped ~5.2m

On shelves/in transit

Japan ~350k

Americas ~400k

Other ~700k

Total ~1.45m

Shipped 14.86m

Sold 13.4m

It adds up
