Gens are arbitrary. We have hardware coming out at different times and power obviously doesn't matter.

3DS is the little handheld that could. It keeps chugging along. Choo Choo.

Agreed, it’s an outdated and misused concept. Some generations (1 and 2) were fabricated in retrospect and make no sense, like they were completely tossed together in a whim.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Good win for Switch, watch your back or PS4 will give a stab. And on X1 it really should be up YOY since X1X is still new in the game and (price is lower?)

Wouldn't it be the opposite? The PS4 is the current king being overthrown. The Switch is killing it, not the other way around.

Honestly, the Xbox One is a lemon. It's been established in the eyes of the consumer as a loser since day 1 and at this point  it's too late to turn it around. Third place is practically a certainty.  The best they can do at this stage is regroup for the next gen and make sure they don't repeat the same mistakes.

And the speed at which Switch will pass it is astounding. Very soon we will be already betting on when it'll happen.

It would take at least 3 years for Switch to pass PS4, but I was only talking 2018 on the comment.

Ah okay, that makes more sense

Honestly, the ps4 needs a price cut asap. I'm suprised it can compete at all with the Switch at the current price point. Sony probably wants to take advantage of MHW, GoW and the next big titles to profit from hw sales, but I wonder if it wouldn't be better to just ride the success of these games and push hw by dropping the price of the slim (500GB model) to 200$/€.
