Yeah. Capcom would be fools if thwey invest that much but expect low sales. Sales on the level of previous entries was the lower bound of useful expectations. I felt at first like it would sell low, but realized my error in thought.

I think the idea was more about handhelds, without the Nintendo part.

I actually thought too it would be in problems aside from handhelds, but realized that Capcom wouldn't have done it, if their market research turned up with that result.

I wonder if there is a chance that Capcom completely overshipped.

So much for sales being affected cause it was on the 'wrong' platform.........

I predicted over 5 million, so I should be second. :P

On the Switch it would've sold 10m on launch. I'd call that "affected".

Many Sony fans lowballed expectations. I got thunder because I challenged that other users that said 1.5M in Japan would be a big success.

So 5m shipped already, PC release later this year... This is the biggest monster hunter ever, in terms of Critical Reception and Sales. Incredible.

The naysayers have been silenced.

I think it is possible that they over-shipped in certain regions, but probably not overall. This shipment will sell through and probably at full price, but I am skeptical of what kind of legs the game will have and also skeptical of the PC version (I think many PC gamers bit the bullet and bought the PS4/XBO version.) Still 5 million is an amazing minimum to start at.
