The execution is good. It's just a different direction then many thought/were hoping. Now I've seen the OG art, I see that this wasn't a lack of direction. It's intentional

I appreciate that not everything has to be cute and overly characterised. It kind of reminds me Wes Andersons Fantastic Mr Fox, a little bit uncanny/surreal but intentionally so 

Looking at it, feels like the main contributor to that is the designs not being anthropomorphised enough, specially the legs lol
