It still amazes me sometime how far gaming has advanced just in my lifetime.
This was my first video game, cutting edge in the home console space at the time:

And now here's the same series today on a mid-range portable console:

Now if only the character designs were much closer to the Mario Galaxy Movie. Now that would be great marketing for a game that really needs it.
