Seeing a Nintendo system run a game @ 120fps is really something. Today was also my first time playing anything at 120fps. Silksong is extremely fun so far! (And I’m not a huge fan of Metroidvanias.) Wow I cannot recommend it enough. The fact that this game was created by a team of three is legitimately difficult to comprehend. Very excited to continue playing next weekend!!

Tbh although I like the game I can see why some players feel Hornet isn't optimized for the game she's in because at times feels like you're fighting the game itself rather than growing with it an example being the currency system, enemies don't drop much of the game's currency which massively impacts upgrading as for some reason SS has a large amount of save points and quick travel locked behind purchasing them unlike in HK where only a handful were the same (In SS it's reversed) this slows down purchases for upgrades. For those unaware who haven't played any HK game they're a Metroidvania that uses the soulslike mechanic of when you die you gave back to the last save point you used, you also have to go back to where you died to reclaim any currency you had on you at the time making saving quite an important thing especially as for some reason despite being the stronger character Hornet takes double damage from most enemies where as the Knight only took double from certain high level enemies.

I'm sort of sad seeing the reviews for Daemon X Machina sequel considering I was quite hyped for it only to be told that the game is currently running badly on it, which was caused by the fact they don't have the S2 dev kits to work on an actual S2 version..

We basically got an upgrade patched version of NSW1 build of the game which was likely barely running there to begin with.

Meh, the newly announced Direct will make me feel better I guess

That's okay. I'm gonna have a ton of fun with it and so will you.

I wonder if the fact that Switch 2 was released later in the year than Switch hopefully means 2026 will be a banger. 2017 ended up huge for Switch with a quieter 2018 in terms of compelling software.
Switch 2's 2025 hasn't been a dud in software offerings, but it is getting too late to match 2017 unless Prime 4 still releases this year and is a masterpiece.

Switch 2: 120 million (was 116 million)

Once we get that actual next-gen patch, I'll certainly be in !

The gameplay seems pretty electric from everything I've seen otherwise.

This Friday (Sept 12) is gonna be awesome, Nintendo Direct AND gonna be pre-ordering my 2 TB iPhone 17 Pro Max ;)

All I want from Nintendo direct in two days is/are

1. New games or DLC involving Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Kirby, DK, Smash, Mario Kart

2. Switch 2 versions of Switch 1 games

3. Zelda WW/TP HD Remaster, Star Fox Zero, or Paper Mario Color Splash ports

4. Rumored Fire Emblem remake

5. Kingdom Hearts 1.5+2.5+2.8+3 Remind collection (or separate collections)

You got me Nintendo.

I'm biting on that Mario Galaxy Collection remaster lol.

Direct was pretty good overall, definitely looking forward to a few things. DK Bananza DLC, RE9 and the other ports, Fire Emblem could be good. Mario 40th Anniversary stuff is super underwhelming though, $40 each for Wii ports, 1 having already been on 3D All-Stars, also.. why can't they just add Galaxy 2 to that collection? Just seems lazy overall.
