Maybe even less. When we looks at E3, we are looking at the past really, stuff in the work for a year or so.
Now that the Switch is selling like crazy, everyone will port whatever they can for it.
The only games that will not come to the Switch are those that can not run in the thing in no way, shape or form.
Remember that the Wii even had crappy Call of Duties, weird Dead Space side stories and subpar Dead Risings.

They ported PS2 games to PSP and a Wii game to 3DS. If they want to do this, they will. I think Monster Hunter World G on Switch is possible but a swerve is probably more likely. Either a "Portable/Freedom" kind of spinoff or, potentially, nothing at all. Guess it depends on how well World and XX Switch sell, and on the nature of the deal with Sony. |
The PSP was so amazing. I miss it so much.

That's so true actually! lol
I love Monster Hunter and will be getting World. But Capcom is about to learn a hard lesson. More AA games turn a profit than AAA games. Most of Atlus' JRPGs don't sell too well, but they were the only profitable branch of Index Corp. Why? Because they kept their development costs down.
Bravely Default was a quick project and it sold 1.39 million units.
Final Fantasy XV took ten years to produce and sold 5 million units.
Guess what? Bravely Default was way the hell more profitable.
The same thing is going to happen between MH4, and MH Worlds. Even if Worlds is a huge success and sells 5 million copies, it won't be as profitable as MH4.

Sure you can cherry pick games but if you look at the industry in general
Guess also what?
AAA game making companies, eg EA,activision, capcom etc make more profit than AA game making companies

It already does, so I don't see the problem. ;)
This really isn't some super good looking game or anything, many PS4 and XBONE games look better.

Monster Hunter World will fail. Not in the sense that it will lose money but in the sense that it won't do what Capcom wants it to do. Monster Hunter sells best on handhelds and that is the case even in the west. I don't expect World to come to the Switch because of Sony's contract. However I do expect a re-branded Monster Hunter 5 on the Switch eventually.
So I predict you will be wrong.
Edit: I also believe that Capcom did 9/11

Its not throwing shade but this game isn't going to sell as well as many hope it will. Capcom is wanting for this game to be their channel into the western markets with the Monster Hunter series. But the game thrives around portability in Japan and how many western gamers are into the grinding game play that is MH. The game will not sell as well as they hope and it will all be for nothing in the end.
The tastes of the western gamer hasn't changed much at all since the start of the HD generation, so expecting to grow the Monster Hunter brand without turning it into some action/adventure game is pretty insane. Capcom seems hell bent on doing itself in at times...
