Man, some people are mad that the Switch isn't getting that incredible 3rd party support they were saying it was going to get. Who's really shocked? I guess they'll just have to get a PS4 along side their Switch.
Warning - think-man

Well I think it's more that Capcom is not putting a game on it that is not technically advanced enough in any way shape or form to justify the skip and that was GUARANTEED to make them tons of money. Plus, Capcom keeps draggin the franchise around, like it's Kingdom Hearts or something. They dragged the whole fanbase to the Wii and then the 3DS and Wii U and then made a show of it being on Switch and then at this E3 said, LUL NO! So yeah, in this instance, people have a right to be pissed.
Now if Sony paid for this situation than all I have to say to Sony is...Sony, hun. You should know better. Capcom, she just ain't the marrying kind. If this is just some deal and Capcom sees money in wiggling out of it, trust me, they will. Did it to Microsoft, Nintendo, and I believe Sony as well.

Most (in their senses) never talked about incredible 3rd party support. Nevertheless, it was almost a given that MH would be on the Switch, you know, THE premier device in Japan?
And I can play it in 4K on my PC, thank you. No need to buy a PS4 just for MH.
PS: Maybe for Persona 5 :(

If that's the case I think this game is for me.

Actually I don't see any other game that does things similar. And it might not be everyones cup of tea (I for one don't get into jump&runs for instance), but that doesn't mean praise is unjustified. Because MonHun does well what it does.
| xl-klaudkil said: Some new info. While previous games had segmented map areas with loading in between, there is no map loading this time. Everything is totally seamless and transition-free. There is a great sense of a living, breathing world. Monsters have a variety of personalities, which you can use against them. Their A.I. has been enhanced to more intelligent, and they have become more “creature-like.” There are new suit items called “Mantles.” The one in the trailer lets you go into a sort of stealth mode. There are also Mantles that let you lure monsters towards you. For the first time in the series, Monster Hunter: World has drop-in multiplayer. If you’re on a quest and need help, you can shoot up an S.O.S. flare to get your friends in the game. There will still be hunter lounges. This time, the servers worldwide are all merged into one, so you can play with users around the world. All 14 weapons from the series are in. The hunting action is the core gameplay of the series. They’re not removing anything, they’re building from the same bases established by the previous titles. There is a new item called the “Slinger,” which lets you hook onto certain parts of the environment and move around that way. You can also pick up rocks off the ground to put in the Slinger and shoot at the enemy or to create a distraction. Here are some new details from Dengeki’s Nishioka, who saw a live demonstration of the game: The basic elements are Monster Hunter. There is HP, a stamina gauge, and item selection. Fighting on a seamless map feels like it it makes full use of the changing topography. You can use items while walking. There were also Felyne Palicoes. And a few more tidbits from Capcom community manager Yuri Araujo (1, 2, 3): This is not a spin-off. Again, for the first time ever, the game uses one big global online server. It’s not an open-world game, but the maps are massive and wide open without any loading screens, as detailed earlier in this post. Monster Hunter: World is due out for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in early 2018, and PC later. In Japan, it will only launch for PlayStation 4. Awesome. I hope they can deliver.

Persona 5 is available for my PS3.
It's their call, but basically if this is Monster Hunter 5 ... I think Capcom has made a really, really, really idiotic mistake business wise.
No home console MH has sold anywhere near the portable sales numbers, even on Wii, it barely hit a million copies in Japan and it had to be discounted massively to eek past 1 mill.
The portable versions on PSP and 3DS all cleared like 3-4 million copies. Now they're banking on this being huge in the West, but honestly I have some doubts about that too, a lot of MH's game play mechanics are niche as fuck for Western audiences and there is no great story telling.
Oh well though. If they end up driving the franchise into the ground like they've done to Street Fighter and even Resident Evil, they have no one to blame but themselves.
| routsounmanman said: Great move, Capcom. Ignore the best selling platform in the region that your game sells the most. I really hope this bombs and they come begging to Nintendo. |
They've also, intentionally or no, built up a community that enjoys and expects that portable aspect. So putting this game on all the systems BUT the portable one that could run it is going to no doubt piss off a large chunk of Japanese customers.
