With shipping 60 Million already and a possible 78 Million and more. PS4 is in a great place. I don't think they need to respond.
It is selling almost twice as much PS4s.
In fact, it seems not even once since the PS1 has a Nintendo console disrupted Sony's market on any way.
Only the X360 and possibly the XOne did.

If the device would be successful (and it would) this price would ruin Sony. People tend to overestimenate the cost of CPU, GPU, Ram and such for a device like this and underestimate the cost for controllers, battery and built in display. Also cooling would be a relevant problem for this device and a battery would need to be huge to power this. The design might end up rather bulky.
They can 'counter' Nintendo by staying in their lane, let the chips fall where they may in JPN, and continue dominating NA / EU / UK / RoW.
Again this thread? I will give the same answer again too: PS4 doesn't have to counter the Switch, the Switch has to counter the PS4.

They are already in all the markets above, but right now they are battling themselves, moving all products to a scalable chip set and a unified Sony OS, will drive revenue and profits well beyond record highs. Which in turn means more new games, more new IP, and more new ways to play. |
Almost every single one of your posts lately reads as "here's all the products I wish Sony would make for me" while masquerading it as "these are all the products Sony needs to make". All of these ideas your pushing would be massive failures. We don't even know at this point if the PS4 Pro was actually a smart decision, and you want them to make a "laptop console"?
