    Banned (Expires: 9th Jul 10)
Permaban - Other (You knew this was coming, and honestly it's overdue. You were given a choice way back in November, when we handed out the longest non-permanent ban for any user ever, to correct your behaviour otheriwse you'd be removed from the forums permanently. That time SHOULD have come just last week when you were acting up in the Google Stadia thread, and then right after your ban was up, you went back in and started again. Now, I'll admit that since I'm the moderator responsible for your last moderation, I should have followed proper course of action and permabanned you then, but I overlooked it and you were given a second, albeit accidental, chance to correct your behaviour. Unfortunately in this time we've seen no improvement from you whatsoever and much like a potato, we feel fried in this current situation. So now thanks to your lack of improvement and overall behaviour, just like a real hamster after four years, it's time for you to leave this place. Shoebox optional.) ~ Bristow9091

Just to let you know, I think most of us are aware that certain features wouldn't be endorsed so heartily or have threads made about them if they didn't appear in a certain game.

I'm actually starting to think that many Nintendo fans expect Nintendo to dictate to them how to have fun rather than be given the options to decide for yourself how to get the most enjoyment out of a game.

    on 17 March 2017

really? because im pretty sure Nintendo gives more options for how to play games than anyone else

    on 25 March 2017

I firmly believe Nintendo controls their user experience more than any other mainstream developer.

    on 25 March 2017

idk in Smash Bros i can pick from like 8 different controllers with many other recent games allow for multiple control setups as well, BotW allows you to play the game in any order you want, Switch itself allows you to play games in various form factors right out of the box

    on 25 March 2017

in Mario Maker you can choose multiple artstyles, most multiplayer Nintendo games allow for local or online in a time when many mp games have completely ditched split screen

    on 25 March 2017

YOU CAN CHOOSE ART STYLES?!? WHAT FREEDOM!!!! Almost all of those examples are Nintendo giving users freedoms in the methods of which people play their games, not how they play the games themselves. I'm talking about Nintendo carefully crafting how to force users into playing their game the way Nintendo wants them to.

Besides, let's ignore all the updates to Mario Maker because users were using parts in a way Nintendo didn't want them to, completely breaking levels people sunk hours into. Let's ignore how voice chat was removed from Splatoon because people were *gasp* cursing. Lets ignore how Star Fox Zero forces you to use those terrible motion controls because Nintendo knows the best way to experience that game. Can you play BotW in any order you want? Good luck getting off of that plateau without completing those temples first.

Nintendo does more than others to shoehorn their users into playing their games the way Nintendo wants them to play.

    on 25 March 2017

So how about some examples of all the wonderful free things the others do. You say Nintendo forced Star Fox to have motion controls, what about all the countless games that Sony/MS force you to use a dual analog setup, sounds like a double standard to me? Your BotW argument is invalid since it is one of the most free games in recent times.

basically your list just consists of voice chat

    on 26 March 2017

Why are you singling out Sony and Microsoft? I'm talking about Nintendo as a game developer, not as a hardware maker. Besides, I can't think of a single game on Sony or MS platforms besides a game that required the use of the Kinect, or PSVR where the game forced the user to only use motion controls, and it was deemed as "acceptable" by the general gaming community.

But we all know that if Nintendo does it, it's totally fine, at least with you.

    on 26 March 2017

thats a double standard, its bad if you force motion controls but its 100% acceptable to force dual analog controls? both ways are limiting the way people can play these games.

you still didnt give examples of how most other developers allow for more freedom than Nintendo.

I am really glad you joined the discussion about the PS4K. All of what you said makes perfect sense and I regard the topic in the same way as you do. Thank you!

    Which games have you made?

I can't possibly say without opening myself up to potential DDOS attacks, but I can tell you at one point I worked on the Madden NFL Football franchise.

That motorcycle helmet was still used as a weapon, even if the creator never...

It matters very little for the intents and purposes of trying to define a hybrid game console. This is literally just arguing over semantics and beyond the intent of the question I was asking. For the purposes of trying to define what a hybrid game console is, we...

We're not saying the same thing because you want someone to define the Switch as a "hybrid" console...
