Well now you know someone that thinks it was good. Story was decent, loved the combat system, don't remember if I did side quests, the pirate guy was awesome even if Vaan was a whiny lil bitch of a main character.

Mr Bubbles,
You do realize you are in the minority? If I thought Halo was crap, it would not change my prediction on if a Halo 4 would sell MS consoles. Most people who played FFXII loved it, thus by definition, it's a good game, even if you were not one of them :).

well..for the sake of the argument - "winning" is selling more consoles than the competitors |
That's actually a very good question. What is "winning"?
If I was to define it, I would say the company that turns the most profit, as that's what they are doing all this for anyway.
Winner there: Nintendo. Everyone else will be far behind them.
If by 'Win' you mean sell most volume of consoles in units - then very probably not.
I would go so far to say that unless MS find a way to get a console out that attracts the PS2 / Wii so called 'Casual gamer' they will in fact never take number one spot, that will most likely go to either Nintendo or Sony depending on who best attracts that demographic each generation of consoles - and as we can see from the PS2 to Wii crossover that title can easily change depending upon the console.
So no, I don't think so. Not with their current standing after the longest presence in the market and with the strong association of Xbox brand with FPS and hardcore gamers.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Bad?
You mean you sucked right? You probably didn't understand the gambit system, you should probably play simpler games.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Famitsu#Perfect_scores
FFXII is one of the 7 games to receive a perfect score from Famitsu, 7
And to all those "Fail" posters... go back to /b/
Listen to the voice of reason, then do as I say.

| Magnific0 said: What's exactly winning? I'd say YES to both questions above. Can Microsoft really win on any of those? The answer is between not likely and No. |
You think Microsoft gaming division, who also counts Zunes profits, but doesn't count last years 1 billion dollar loss to the RRoD, is gonna be more profitable than Nintendo?
You realize that MS "Profit" last year was due to Halo 3's vast success and it being a "first party" game, right?
Now come on, do you actually believe that MS will make more profit this year, with HD-DVD 's death, and the price drops, than Nintendo will, with the DS and the Wii, per investment dollar in its gaming division?
Cold day in hell, I'd say. Nintendo always makes a profit, and when times are good, they pretty much rake it in.
As far as "winning more market share" are you kidding?
The 360 vs the original Xbox, compared to the Wii verses the Gamecube?
No, my friend, the Xbox is not the top dog in either of the categories you've outlined. You should have known that.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.

FFXII was a great game imo, and yes, I feel that most people who hate it, never played it enough to like it, much like FFVIII, you can play all the way through XII without ever truely understanding its complex battle engine, and in essence, never learn how to truely play the game.
That said, game tastes differ greatly. Some people hate Vagrant Story and Super Mario Galaxy, that's just their personal and strange tastes, can't really account for them.
