You mean you sucked right? You probably didn't understand the gambit system, you should probably play simpler games.

FFXII was a great game imo, and yes, I feel that most people who hate it, never played it enough to like it, much like FFVIII, you can play all the way through XII without ever truely understanding its complex battle engine, and in essence, never learn how to truely play the game.

 

That said, game tastes differ greatly. Some people hate Vagrant Story and Super Mario Galaxy, that's just their personal and strange tastes, can't really account for them.
